Am I an Extraverted or Introverted NTJ? (with video)

I just posted this video series about being an ENTJ but am realizing I might be an INTJ. I'd really like to figure this out for my own sake and so I don't mislead people.

Reasons why Extraverted: Identify with field marshal. Am told I have good people skills. Naturally rise to leadership positions. Often speak up and speak out. Have many friends and many close friends.

Reasons why Introverted: Need to regenerate after spending time in mid-sized groups and with strangers. Won't have fun going out 80% of the time if I'm not drinking. Like solitary activities like reading & computer games.

What do you guys think? What other tell-tale signs should I look for?

you sound like an introvert but you could always be an "even" split. people skills and a capacity for leadership are not soley extroverted traits, altough it just that generally these traits are easier for an extravert to attain. on the flip side there are plenty of extraverts with terrible people skills (weve all met loud obnoxious people that nobody can stand, just one example off the top of my head) and who are terribly suited for leadership positions (just an example of an extrovert i know, that jovial highly sociable person that tries way too hard to be a people pleaser we all know at least one of, again just one example off the top of my head). i didnt watch your video for more than a couple seconds but i can tell from your description that none of your extraverted pros were actually extraverted pros. lol, but nobody is completely one or the other either and that is important to remember too. i dont know what the rest of your life is like but from what you put you sound like either an introvert or possibly an ambivert. if you are positive you are an ntj, the intjs are capable of leadership but usually prefer not to unless they have to, but what the intj considers "having to" can vary from person to person and it depends on what it would cost them in energy, obviously this is variant to individual circumstances and i dont know yours but i would consider that.

I feel like an ambivert but the typology always says "you are one or the other and if you think you're in between you just don't understand yourself." What's their logic with this?

Anyway, when I got home today I asked a couple of my housemates and they both said I am in the middle. One (who is from a different social group background that I've recently gotten to know well) says that I am the most outgoing person he knows but that I can also spend an entire day inside by myself without getting fazed. I do have a propensity to turn on extreme intro/extraversion, or anywhere in between, at will.

THe logic is that by claiming yourself as an ambivert you aren't looking at this from a functional perspective and instead relying on stereotypes of what extraversion/introversion mean. They DO NOT mean sociability. It simply means whether your cognitive energy is initially directed back at yourself (introversion) or out at the world (extraversion). This has very little to do with how social someone is. I could probably find several ISTP or INFJs who are far more social than some ESTJs and ENTPs. Everyone can introvert and everyone can extravert. It is a matter of your dominant perspective.

Wikipedia states that 68% of people are ambiverted. When deciding for MBTI, base it on whether Ni or Te is your dominant function.

Edit: Watched your video. Seems like pretty classic ENTJ =)

You and I are very alike. Probably has a lot to do with our age (not sure how old you are, guessing 20 or so -- I'm 18).

I suppose what it takes to develop that overbearing, confident outlook is experience.

Is tend to specialize in a select few things whereas Es like to juggle multiple stimuli at once. Also, Es naturally enjoy interacting with the external, tangible, practical world which is where they draw their excitement and pleasure. I noticed your priority in the couple videos I watched was surrounding leadership and managing others, although that may be because you've developed a schema in your mind about what an ENTJ is supposed to be/do and expanded on that.

I don't know you well enough to tell, my advice would be take several different tests over time and see where your results lie. Needless to say, maximum objectivity required.

I find it difficult to just kick it with others as well (especially with Ss) if there's no set purpose or goal. There's something about just sitting, oafing around I find aversive.
