Whenever I take a MBTI, the majority of my results are INFP.
But when I'm reading all the types descriptions, I would class myself as an INFJ
Am I only one of them, or an INFx?

But when I'm reading all the types descriptions, I would class myself as an INFJ
Am I only one of them, or an INFx?
You're probably not a strong J, but still a J. The tests use a lot of stereotypes in their questions, which work on most people, but not on all. Js having clean desks, for example. Trust your own insight/research more, not the test results.
If you take away the organisation of a J, that's what I am, it's complicated.
From the INFJ, I am:
INFJs are gentle, caring, complex and highly intuitive individuals. Artistic and creative, they live in a world of hidden meanings and possibilities.
INFJs operate within themselves on an intuitive basis which is entirely spontaneous.
INFJs put a tremendous amount of faith into their instincts and intuitions.
INFJs have uncanny insight into people and situations.
most INFJs are protective of their inner selves, sharing only what they choose to share when they choose to share it. They are deep, complex individuals, who are quite private and typically difficult to understand. INFJs hold back part of themselves, and can be secretive.
INFJ is as genuinely warm as they are complex.
INFJ is a perfectionist who doubts that they are living up to their full potential.
In the workplace, the INFJ usually shows up in areas where they can be creative and somewhat independent.
They have a natural affinity for art, and many excel in the sciences, where they make use of their intuition.
And from the INFP I am:
Their primary goal is to find out their meaning in life.
They rely heavily on their intuitions to guide them, and use their discoveries to constantly search for value in life.
They are on a continuous mission to find the truth and meaning underlying things.
Generally thoughtful and considerate, INFPs are good listeners and put people at ease.
Although they may be reserved in expressing emotion, they have a very deep well of caring and are genuinely interested in understanding people.
If they must face it, they will always approach it from the perspective of their feelings. In conflict situations, INFPs place little importance on who is right and who is wrong. They focus on the way that the conflict makes them feel, and indeed don't really care whether or not they're right. They don't want to feel badly. This trait sometimes makes them appear irrational and illogical in conflict situations.
INFPs make very good mediators, and are typically good at solving other people's conflicts, because they intuitively understand people's perspectives and feelings, and genuinely want to help them.
When it comes to the mundane details of life maintenance, INFPs are typically completely unaware of such things. They might go for long periods without noticing a stain on the carpet, but carefully and meticulously brush a speck of dust off of their project booklet.
INFPs do not like to deal with hard facts and logic. Their focus on their feelings and the Human Condition makes it difficult for them to deal with impersonal judgment. They don't understand or believe in the validity of impersonal judgment, which makes them naturally rather ineffective at using it. Most INFPs will avoid impersonal analysis, although some have developed this ability and are able to be quite logical. Under stress, it's not uncommon for INFPs to mis-use hard logic in the heat of anger, throwing out fact after (often inaccurate) fact in an emotional outburst.
INFPs may have problems working on a project in a group, because their standards are likely to be higher than other members' of the group. In group situations, they may have a "control" problem.
INFPs are usually talented writers. They may be awkard and uncomfortable with expressing themselves verbally, but have a wonderful ability to define and express what they're feeling on paper.
Maybe I'm a INFx, or an INFP that doesnt know themselves very well
INFJs are probably the most disorganized Js around. They frequently try to consider themselves (and even test online as) Ps, but it's just not the same as an actual INFP.
I could go into it in a great deal more depth, but suffice it to say that I'm with TheWindListens on this one. You're an INFJ.
Thank you![]()
Try using functions. If you're an INFP Fi and Ne will be a lot closer to home than Ni and Fe, which is what the INFJ is. For me, it was easier to figure out my extraverted function first, as those are usually more visible.
INFP:
Introverted Feeling
Extraverted iNtuiting
INFJ:

Organization is a big part of J. also I think you mixed up INFJ and INFP.
INFJ - The Mystic/ The Protector :
INFJs are future oriented, and direct their insight and inspiration toward the understanding of themselves and thereby human nature. Their work mirrors their integrity, and it needs to reflect their inner ideals. Solitude and an opportunity to concentrate thoroughly on what counts most is important to them. INFJs prefer to quietly exert their influence. They have deeply felt compassion, and they desire harmony with others. INFJs understand the complexities existing within people and among them. They are at their best concentrating on their ideas, ideals, and inspirations.
INFJs are conscientious and value-driven. They seek meaning in relationships, ideas, and events, with an eye toward better understanding themselves and others. Using their intuitive skills, they develop a clear vision, which they then execute decisively to better the lives of others. Like their INTJ counterparts, INFJs regard problems as opportunities to design and implement creative solutions.[14]
INFJs are quiet, private individuals who prefer to exercise their influence behind the scenes. Although very independent, INFJs are intensely interested in the well-being of others. INFJs prefer one-on-one relationships to large groups. Sensitive and complex, they are adept at understanding complicated issues and driven to resolve differences in a cooperative and creative manner.
INFP- The Dreamer/ The Healer:
INFPs focus deeply on their values, and they devote their lives to pursuing the ideal. They often draw people together around a common purpose and work to find a place for each person within the group. They are creative, and they seek new ideas and possibilities. They quietly push for what is important to them, and they rarely give up. While they have a gentleness about them and a delightful sense of humor, they may be somewhat difficult to get to know and may be overlooked by others. They are at their best making their world more in line with their internal vision of perfection.
The polite, reserved exterior of INFPs can at first make them difficult to get to know. They enjoy conversation, however, taking particular delight in the unusual. When INFPs are in a sociable mood, their humor and charm shine through. Disposed to like people and to avoid conflict, INFPs tend to make pleasant company.
Devoted to those in their inner circle, INFPs guard the emotional well-being of others, consoling those in distress. Guided by their desire for harmony, INFPs prefer to be flexible unless their ethics are violated. Then, they become passionate advocates for their beliefs. They are often able to sway the opinions of others through tact, diplomacy, and an ability to see varying sides of an issue.
INFPs develop these insights through reflection, and they require substantial time alone to ponder and process new information. While they can be quite patient with complex material, they are generally bored by routine. Though not always organized, INFPs are meticulous about things they value. Perfectionists, they may have trouble completing a task because it cannot meet their high standards. They may even go back to a completed project after the deadline so they can improve it.
INFPs are creative types and often have a gift for language. As introverts, they may prefer to express themselves through writing. Their dominant Feeling drives their desire to communicate, while their auxiliary intuition supplies the imagination. Having a talent for symbolism, they enjoy metaphors and similes. They continually seek new ideas and adapt well to change. They prefer working in an environment that values these gifts and allows them to make a positive difference in the world, according to their personal beliefs.[13]
The only difference between the INFP and the INFJ is that the INFJ is more traditional, and prefers organization and schedules. I would personally think of an artist as INFP. I am constantly told that I should be an artist, but I am scared stiff by the lifestyle. There's no schedule, no fixed routine. I feel like there's nothing to rely on. I need a highly organized schedule and defined rules or I flounder. I'm useless if I don't feel secure. However I might be wrong in my belief. You might be INFJ.
Try these out and see if something clicks into place.
INFJ or INFP? a closer look
Can some repressed Js test as Ps?
The thing is, I'm not organised like an INFJ, I don't like schedules or routines, yet I'm not as value-driven as most INFPs. How would you describe an INFx?
