    xNxP??

    xNxP
Alright I'm fairly certain that I'm an INTP or ENTP but I've gotten the result of infp and enfp in the past as well. Plus I thought it would be interesting (for me mostly :P) to see what other people would type me as.

First the I/E is the hardest for me to make a decision on. I love meeting new people, I find it stimulating and fun. I've had in the past fairly in-depth conversations with more or less strangers. And the distinction that a lot of tests give E = get more energized as a party goes on I = gets drained of energy, I'm definitely identify more with E. Although on the other hand I can spend hours by myself doing my own thing and often times if I'm in that 'mode' social interaction is un-wanted by me, especially if it's with annoying people. I think I'm a little picky with who I like talking to hanging out with, I want someone interesting and at least a little intelligent. My thought process seems pretty introverted as well, I enjoy others input on ideas but I don't need it. Sometimes I'd prefer to just be left to myself thinking about things than have a conversation with someone.

Regarding T/F I'm fairly certain I'm a T. I think the reason I've gotten the result of F before is because of question like "what do you value more compassion or logic" something along those lines. I value both of them equally, I don't mind helping people with their problems I actually enjoy it. It lets me offer a logical and realistic solution/outlook that they might not be approaching it from. Although I use sometimes hold back what I really think so I don't hurt the persons feelings (something I wish I didn't do). It's kinda the same thought process I sometimes get when I feel I'm being judged by someone I respect. I'll alter myself so I won't be judged, which I want to stop doing. Being anything other than yourself is like the worst feeling for me. Its far worse than someone judging me based on who I really am. I also dislike when people don't understand my reasoning behind an action and think I'm being lazy/rude ect..

Oh also something that might help determain type..I consider myself a big contradiction: I played a bunch of sports although I'm not a jock at all. I'm very musical and other than the fact that I actual play sports my personality is much more similar to the 'geek' if we're being steryotypical. Also I suck at art..don't think that's relavent to type though.

Alright, I think that's good enough of a rant about myself for now..not sure if any of this is helpful at all in determaining my type. I'm more interesting in how I appear to someone objectively viewing me than actually typing myself . Also, if you think I'm something completely different from an xNxP tell me. Really any feedback should be interesting. So, go reply to me, if you read this far you might as well lol.

What you said about T/F makes me think you're a T-user, and the fact that you're asking "what type do you think I am?" makes me think you're an extrovert, but I could be wrong, as I can't even type my own I/E preference.

This seems pretty normal for an Ne-dom, if you are indeed an ENxP.
By default, I much prefer to spend time alone with things that interest me. Sometimes it just seems as if people infringe on my time to where socializing seems like something of a drudgery. Though in the times when I have been pulled out, I've noticed that I enjoy excitement and events where many people are present. I have had times when I've wanted to stay out rather than go home. And I can also relate to being picky about who I hang out with as I do think I can feel 'drained' with certain people or in certain situations.
But I think that defining extroversion and introversion in that way can get confusing. You should try to figure out if you use Ne as a dominant function or as a supporting/secondary function. If you use it as a supporting function, then you're an INxP.

As for the F/T, you seem like you use Fe rather than Fi. xNFPs use Fi while xNTPs use Fe. You could be an xNTP with a developed Fe, perhaps.

Those are just my first thoughts.

I know my Ne is fairly dominant but at times it also feels like my Ti is also dominant. It becomes even harder to decide which one is more dominant because they are both active at the same time. As a default for me I'd just rather be engaged in something intersting, weather that be by myself doing things I like to do, or with a bunch of people.
I'm not very educated on Fi or Fe, what are the roles of those functions??

    *bump*
Heres some more information that may of may not help..

I tend to be a bit of a "jack of all trades" type of person, If I see something interesting I want to learn how to do it. But, than something new will seem intersting to me, preventing me from completely focusing on what I was learning before. The one constant thing that never gets boring to me though is music, ever since I was really young I played piano..and I've played drums for most of my life. I was in a band in highschool, but like most things my musical interests changed and we kinda faded apart. My friend is teaching me how to play guitar to. It may seem like I get bored easily and have a short attention span but when I'm focused on something I put most of my energy into it. Its kinda a weird contradiction.

I'm completely un-organized in every aspect of my life. I'm hardly ever on time, and I do alot of things last min. I should probably try to improve on this a bit, but its just the way I am and I function. My thoughts are also pretty sporadic and all over the place, however I think I use my Ti to focus in on one thought and balence out my Ne. Is it possible for INTP's to have higher Ne's than Ti's?? I saw in a thread that a few other INTP's had slighty higher Ne's. I think of Ne as an unconscious function, and Ti as my conscious function. My Ne gives me ideas out of no where without me fully concentrating on gathering ideas than I consciously change my focus to Ti to sort through these ideas. Does anyone else have a simular experiance?

    ISTP - The Mechanics

Well Ne (and Si) is about getting information and Ti (and Fe) is about deciding for an XNTP, so in most situations you use at least one of each. By definition an INTP with more Ne than Ti is an ENTP whether they want to "admit" to being an extrovert or not... I've read that Ti dominant (INTP) people are more decisive, and clearly you aren't on this at least, Ne is all about possibilities.

Many people here aren't actually that fussed about finding out what type they are once they find some like-minded people to talk with, and as XNTPs use the same functions they can understand each other just fine and play devils advocate with each other without causing offense. What more do you need in a social life

That you put both I options first in the OP suggests to me you've already decided you are an introvert (E is alphabetically first), is this so?

This is indeed T vs F, and you naturally prefer T (bold) and worrying about someone's feelings is more Fe to me, where Fi is almost assuming how someone feels and the reason for it. ENTPs have more Fe than INTPs which is one of the reasons I'm leaning heavily towards E. (I am in the same position as you)

    That sounds INTP-ish.

Asmit's points are also valid, however.

So, which is your least used of Si and Fe? The fact that you find it hard to understand Fi/Fe is one key here, but maybe the same is true for Si/Se for you? And there might be other things... But in general the opposite of the dominant function, would be clearly less used that the opposite of the auxiliary.

I'm going to have to guess ENTP (assuming that you're some sort of xNxP). Getting energized by a party is very E, and it's not like Es want to hang out with everybody all the time. You sound a lot like an ENTP I know. He also doesn't often need or want other people to help him think things through and he can spend a lot of time alone if he's doing something he enjoys.
