    Can 7s get depressed?

I'm trying to figure out what my best friend is, and I would say she was a seven, cause she is always in action, jack of all trades, has heaps of friends, isn't particularly sensitive, is generally upbeat, and is an ENTP...
But a few years ago she became a goth got really depressed, was cutting herself, and attempted suicide twice.
It wasn't reactionary depression, and probably not hormonal.
It probably spanned about 3 years, and if you met her now you'd have no idea (except maybe for the monroe)
What's kinda weird is depression is when you repress your emotions; it's internal. But she was very external about it.

    Can this happen with 7s?

Yes. Sevens can get very depressed. Just think about looking through the world in our eyes. We look for excitement and try to fight away from boredom. I've gotten to a stage before where I found everything boring. When a seven goes there they might start thinking suicide is the only way out. I know I did, and the only reason I didn't try is because I hate the thought of killing myself. [My own arrogance stopped me from hurting myself. LOL, sometimes it is good to have a bad trait.]

That makes sense, she's quite restless and stubborn, which probably made her more stuck in feeling down... I remember having a conversation with her when we past someone on crutches
"If I was disabled I'd kill myself"
    "You're a dork."
"No. If I even lost my pinky. Gone."
She knew she was being silly but at that time truly believed what she was saying.
The world is definitely a better place with you around n_n

Sevens are inclined to depression once their excitement, and especially, their attention to something is gone. Sevens, from what I've seen, like to keep themselves occupied with things, usually fun things, but sometimes anything for the sake of staving off boredom. It's weird how it works, maybe it could relate alot to Ne (most sevens are ENTP and ENFP).

I have had a few depressive phases in my life and they generally correlate to moments when my life is not flowing and I am feeling stuck (it could be due to a relationship that I can't let go of or an illness of someone who is very close to me). I know it is a temporary state but it does have an effect on my normally positive, inquisitive nature.

If I am a 7, then YES. Life was all fine and good, until I developed a strong 6 wing. Introversion = reflection, which = depression. I became so depressed... I am so depressed... but then a switch just FLIPPED and I don't want to deal with this anymore. I learned that sometimes when you just leave everything alone and come back to it later it gets better. I'd like to find some friends and make a lot of noise, like I used to. Life is sooososssssoooo wWeEIRdD! It must be part of being a teenager.

Maybe I'm a 6 with a 7 wing. Or a 6w5 who, under stress, has become a... 3w7? That sounds like the ultimate performer!

i didnt realise this until recently that sevens did get depressed, my best friend who is a 7, whenever she used to feel as though she was about to be depressed, she'd get hyper. but recently i went to visit her and she was so depressed she wouldnt get out of bed,, it was like years of not dealing with the emotions and she'd had some kind of a breakdown. :(

I really do not enjoy being depressed. I really prefer activity.

However, I often become depressed when I've achieved my goals and the adrenaline rush is no longer there
