    Filtering (un)reasonable doubt

I have doubts or suspicions that spring up from nowhere. I know that if, in those states, I was in a 'right' state of mind, I would be able to brush off doubt easily - to decide what's reasonable and unreasonable doubt to have.

But the lines get a little blurred for me sometimes. How do the rest of you 6's decide what is reasonable to be doubtful and suspicious of - and what is unreasonable to be?

I try my best to not fear things that I can not immediately fix. Things like social faux pas, worrying about money, food, etc.

When they do start to bother me I ask myself, "hey, why are you freaking out about this? It wasn't bothering you before so why is it bothering you now?"

That oddly enough causes the anxiety to almost immediately fade away. I remember having an anxiety attack when I was 8 worrying about something I did that was awkwardly a few weeks prior. I thought that up and it tends to work wonders when I do start worrying about needless things.

It's important to maintain a healthy state of mind though. Eat healthy, stay on top of your bills, have money in the bank, etc etc.

Usually, I don't worry about what I'm fearing is unreasonable or not. I work myself into being completely fearless. I fight back the uneasiness, no matter where/who/what the source of fear originates from.

Interesting. I've tried doing that and found it tiresome. Instead I just dismiss fear now; if it isn't reasonable, there's no need to worry, because there'll be no effect, if it is reasonable, there's no need to worry, because I can handle it. Improving on and recognizing personal competence has been the key for me.

I'm really not a suspicious person. I'm very trusting and gullible. However, I usually have a good memory, so if someone contradicts themselves I often notice and wonder why. Sometimes it bothers me.

That said, I am just a 4w3 with a secondary 6w7, so maybe that's part of why I am not as suspicious as most 6's probably are.

I tend to compare it to reality and try to determine objectively if my fear is unfounded, and what it's source was. Then, if I determine it to be unreasonable or hampering my life, I work to sort it out. Some fears are not that bad and can be motivational in a good way, others are detrimental and need to be faced.
