    Oh hai

Very common. Usually of the 6w5 variety. 6 is common in every MBTI type.

    Why?

True. A lot of people tend to forget this little nugget.

    @OP

As paradigm said, its very common, however from what I've gathered 6w5 is probably going to be common among the IXTXs and 6w7 among the EXFX. Though, I've seen 6w7 be common for a lot of feeler types regardless of introversion or extroversion.

I dated a counter phobic 6w5 intj years ago in high school.

We both couldn't figure each other out and yet really really liked each other.

She was crazier than me. I liked that.

    Still good friends too.

    I'm INTJ and type 6.
Don't know how often it comes up, just showing it does.

Because sixes are shaky/awkward around people and flee to the internet?

The six orientation/anxiety is also a logical consequence of an apathetic universe and chaotic industrialized society.

I like the other theory about the internet though.

    Why?

I read that M Scott Peck the author of "The Road Less travelled" said in one of his books that he was an INTJ. In another book he describes some different reactions he had in relating to diffierent authority figures early in his career and was pegged as a six by some writers. I am a 6 and my best friend is an intj 8 and I find it hard to imagine an intj 6w5.

I'm guessing you're one of the many who doesn't understand what 6s are actually about...

@Mimeticmonk, I've come to learn--as many eventually do if they stick around long enough--that most of what you hear about X type in any system are stereotypes. INTJs are not all super-confident and 6s are not all unconfident; INTJs are not all independent and 6s are not all dependent. What matters is that you share the INTJ's functions (Ni-Te-Fi-Se) and 6's motivations (security). Your behavior and mannerisms are relatively pointless since they usually come from personae, not the "true you."

Or perhaps you misunderstand the predicates.

Unsure about being INTJ....however I seem to be Ni dom in socionics so INxp there which some people would translate as INFJ & INTJ in the MBTI. I have similar issues with this to @Paradigm....she'd fit INTJ better then I thou. I'd argue Fi-ish with with P tendencies all over minus specific areas of interest where both external and internal structure need comes as more of a internal compulsion.

.....I only just noticed how much I push for narrowing down options, how many intuitive leaps I make, how my mind seems to work....a very definate Ni dom according to the functions.

Its quite possible that there are a lot of Ni dom 6-es, thou many wouldn't identify as such in the MBTI unless you go by functions. E6 can be any type.

I know a LOT of IxI 6-es...tbh. This is surprising.
    Paradigm thanked this post.
