I will literally give it no more time or thought. How about the rest of you guys? And I realize that this could have a lot to do with my 1 fix as well, but still :P
I agree with this mind set completely. You see, I am not a patient person. It just isn't in my makeup. I am a lot of good things, but honestly I have qualities I will forever be working on. Forever and a day. Hahahahhahahah, anyway, I have no patience with idiots, people with selfish motives, overly vain types. Some vanity is actually acceptable, even necessary for healthy self esteem. But I won't ramble, I'm pretty stressed after a damn hard days work. Milk and cookies will sustain me though, heeee heeeee.

So am I all or nothing?

I believe, in the greatest depths of my heart there is no better way to live. And I do not recant.

I was under the impression that Ennegram Type 8 was the most likely to be the "all or nothing type". If it's something that's tempered, then it could very well be a 7w8 fix. I know this because I faced this all or nothing mentality with my brother [who I've typed as an 8 at this point] --- and my ex who was a 7w8.

I think type 3's can and will relate to this mentality as well with the difference being that the "all" or "nothing" is about pure unadulterated success and achievement. 3w2 to accomplish and achieve a sense of pride in their accomplishment - wanting to be admired and respected for it ... 3w4 like to excel for themselves and be seen as successful in achieving what they set out to achieve. Of course 3w4's require praise and affirmation, but usually can be satisfied with achieving a sense of worth in their own eyes.

I know that I go for it like a wild animal when I know the reward is going to be great [not just financially] but through achievement -- having a sense of accomplishment of having done the best job I could possibly do [but even then I find myself looking back and thinking that I could've done better]. I'm one of those people who looked at a 97% job performance evaluation and felt gutted I ended up asking my boss "Where did I go wrong to lose the other 3%?" And he said something about me lacking interpersonal skills o.0 [I had had a fight with a subordinate where I called him an incompetent ass in front of the whole team] So we scheduled a training session in interpersonal skills for me xD

I actually have a feeling of regret and fear of leaving things unfinished ... Like in my jobs in the past, even if I was faced with tasks that I didn't want to do but had to do as part of my overall job performance, I would feel a deep feeling of doom. I just couldn't leave things unfinished.

One of the reasons why I gave up music, because somehow I got this into my head that I would never be good enough to be great --- despite the fact that everyone else told me that I was good enough to be one of the greatest composers in Pakistan. I just didn't want to accept it. I felt I had flaws and was not technically superior so I went for a simple/solid career as a Business Graduate instead.

I work towards salvaging things. I stay true to my end goal and I make it flexible enough to overcome difficulties once I'm in. Yes, I quit as well when faced with the prospect of complete failure --- but not before I have a well-developed exit strategy in mind that will allow me to save face.

Agreed. For some reason the things I throw always come back like boomerangs. Its really annoying. Like this ouiji board we had once.
