    Diablo 3

In 12 days, I will disappear from the world as we know it for a short period of time(probably a week). I know I'm not alone. I have to stop myself from thinking about it because I get way too hyped up.

Can you believe it? It's been 16 years since the release of Diablo. 12 years since the release of Diablo 2. I can't wait!

Who is with me? Geek out about Diablo 3 here(or the series in general), as some of us started doing so in the GW2 thread.

I played Diablo 2 for several years, myself. Mostly online. Running character after character through the game and grinding out gear. Doing Hell Act 4 runs, then Baal runs and Mephisto runs.
Personally, I know 3 may not live up to my expectations, but I'm still excited. I just hope they don't kick me in the gut like Bioware did with Mass Effect 3.

FREAKIN' CAIN! That old geezer should just stay at home. What a nuisance! I'm sick of having to rescue him again, and again...and again. We should have just left him to rot in that stupid little gibbet in Tristram.

Kayness and I have done several complete runs through all three difficulties of D2 as a team on battle.net. I've been playing D2 and its expansion since launch. I played the first game to death as well, and I am in the Diablo III beta. I have two copies of the new game preordered and set for release date delivery, one for me, and one for the other half of my team, Kayness.

What will you folks be playing?

I can't decide between Wizard or Demon Hunter? :x

I got to play the beta for a bit, so I got to try all the classes.

In diablo 2, I loved my skelemancer. Nearly useless in later difficulties as everything could destroy my army with just dirty looks, but it was so fun having having this giant blob of color following me on the minimap.
Which means the first class I'll be playing is the Witch Doctor, built for summoning.
Witch Doctor - Game Guide - Diablo III
I'm still not entirely sure about the Spider Queen rune. I may prefer the ability to cover the floor with spiders as opposed to simply having one giant spider.

That's one of the benefits of the new skill system. I'm not completely locked down in one build like I was in Diablo 2. No more having to create a new character when I find the one I made sucks in harder difficulties.

After that, I'll probably go with whatever class I've found the best weapon drops for.

Something I noticed when I was playing a Monk: slower weapons seemed to be better.
When I used fast weapons with the same DPS as a 2h staff, I killed everything slower. The second I switched back to the slow staff, my attacks came less frequently, but I was able to 1 and 2 shot basic enemies.

I don't usually like sites like IGN, but I kind of like this video: Diablo in Five Minutes - Diablo 3 (PC) - IGN Video

I mostly liked Deckard Cain's Antique Roadshow:

Oh gosh, you must try ALL. They all kick ass in different ways.

On the weekend beta, I played Wizard while my friend got Demon Hunter. The wizard has great crowd control skills with explosive orbs or deal with single targets with short-ranged lightning or long-ranged ice laser. When my friend with demon hunter reached a certain level, MACHINE GUN DERBY!!! Then I was like "wow, I gotta try Demon Hunter later as well"

So everyone! Let's keep this page alive and add each other once we get our account info? yeah? Game on! =D
    10 days left!

I am excited to start playing Diablo III but I have to wait for a couple of months before I can. Currently I am living abroad and only have a tablet around. I am curious what everyone thinks of the game. As far as I heared, the beta got very good receptions, as is expected from a Blizzard game.

So yeah, can't wait but have to :+

While geeking out over some Diablo 3 info, I ended up making a "homage" character in City of Heroes.
I was inspired by this video:
Diablo III: Wrath - Behind the Scenes of the Animated Short - GameSpot.com

I saw that, and thought to myself: "Man, I want to play as Tyrael."
So I logged into City of Heroes and made a new character.

I think I may be a little too excited about this game.
