I love them. Why it so bothersome? It's pagan fashion.

It's also the return of a trend from late 70's/early 80's.

When I was a very little girl, I had a silver hair clip with purple-dyed feathers attached.

I'm not sure why you consider it odd if people adorn their two year olds, either. Depending on culture, little girls may have feathers, ribbons, flowers, ear piercings, or a pigtail on either side of their head. So what?

I want to start wearing flowered wreaths in my hair like Eastern European women in the 19th century/ at the turn of the 20th century:

I've seen the flowers/ribbon thing, as well as the side braid (that I already rock) traditionally in German, Polish, and Russian cultural folk dress.

I don't really care, nor have I noticed. Does that render my comment void because of this?

But I do think there's this free-spirited quality to it. Women who do it, are channeling Janis Joplin-Pearl, Pearl was a free-spirit, I don't see what's wrong with being a free spirit.
