I'm not sure why you consider it odd if people adorn their two year olds, either. Depending on culture, little girls may have feathers, ribbons, flowers, ear piercings, or a pigtail on either side of their head. So what?

Also I think hibiscus flowers are nice for hair especially since the plant pops them off naturally. I used to have one, they are really cool.

I want to start wearing flowered wreaths in my hair like Eastern European women in the 19th century/ at the turn of the 20th century:



I've seen the flowers/ribbon thing, as well as the side braid (that I already rock) traditionally in German, Polish, and Russian cultural folk dress.

But I do think there's this free-spirited quality to it. Women who do it, are channeling Janis Joplin-Pearl, Pearl was a free-spirit, I don't see what's wrong with being a free spirit.
