Why do women love the stuff so much? I swear every girlfriend of mine LOVES (d) the stuff and I don't get why....didn't get the chance to ask before, but I'm itching to know.

For me it doesn't do much to be honest. I can't even tell if I have more energy from coffee or the like or not *shrug* it must be just me.

In my mind it is clear. When a girl is down (sad and stuff), dark chocolate is always like a cherry on top of making her feel better again. Its so weird.

(I do realize some girls hate the stuff and I inquire beforehand, but chances are if she likes coffee, she will love dark chocolate)

I like dark, milk, and white chocolate. That being said, I do appreciate the depth and intensity of dark chocolate. It's best letting it melt on my tongue while sipping some rich, very strong black coffee. Also nice is when enjoying a few dark chocolate pieces with something acidic, like orange.

95% cacao omg. I've yet to find 99% though. Hell, I'll just eat the cacao straight.

I like white chocolate, just not when it's clearly mixed with hydrogenated oil like in Lindt truffles. I totally understand that it's meant to make the filling creamier, but it's too... buttery AND sweet.

I hope you haven't been eating baker's chocolate or that chocolate powder that is very bitter and needs milk added to be any good. That stuff is pretty vile.
Ewww @ solidified coffee, I can only drink the stuff with plenty of milk and lots of sugar let alone have it on its own.

No, I've tried all sorts of dark chocolate, always thinking "maybe I'll like it this time.....oh wait, nope, tastes as horrible as it did last time" before spitting it back out lol

I don't know what it is with most women and chocolate, I for one, am a complete chocaholic. I can have multiple bars a day, and if I don't watch it I'll probably end up with diabetes lol It's a miracle I'm not obese.

I've been trying to eat semi-paleo for awhile now and part of that is avoiding too much sugar, so I've been eating a lot of really dark chocolate. I'm working on a bar of 85% right now, as a matter of fact. I used to hate dark chocolate but now I love the subtle flavors. I actually find milk chocolate waaaay too sweet now (in fact, I had a piece of 65% a few weeks ago and THAT was way too sweet for me). Sometimes I'll even eat squares of unsweetened baker's chocolate. It's cheap and I like the bitter flavor. Most people think I'm crazy, but it's really not that different a flavor from black coffee.

Because I'm on a ketogenic diet, the only chocolate I'm allowed to have is super dark chocolate! My favourites are the 80% or 70% dark chocolate Lindt, but some people may find them to be too dark. c:

I prefer dark chocolate over other types up to a certain point, 70% is okay, 80% is when it starts to get too bitter for me. 99%? Nope. I recently had the opportunity to try dark chocolate milk. That first taste had me thinking "where have you been all my life?"

I love dark chocolate. It is healthier for you. It's not too sweet and makes you are satisfied with it faster than milk chocolate. (I'll consume less with dark chocolate because it satisfies my chocolate craving faster than milk chocolate.)

Inadequate: Tbh, making instant gravy, and then putting a bit of your choice of cheese (parmesan for me) in it, and topping egg noodles with it is fucking delicious as fuck.
Caprice: Ohohoh the savory homology to melting white chocolate into blueberry oatmeal.
    Inadequate: I HATE white chocolate.
    Caprice: :P
    Inadequate: Srsly. It's realy nasty.
    Inadequate: And, not actually chocolate.
Caprice: Do you just want me to say "sugared cocoa butter" every time anyone else would say "white chocolate"?
Inadequate: ... Honestly, Nancy, think about who you're asking. Take a moment, and ponder that, and then tell me what you think.
    Caprice: I'll pass.
    Inadequate: :P
Inadequate: You're the one that asked!
Caprice: You're the one who didn't answer!
Inadequate: Yes. Yes, I would like you to called it "sugarded cocao butter" instead of spreading blasphemous lies.
Caprice: "sugarded" a portmanteau of sugared and retarded?
    Inadequate: Precisely.
Inadequate: Because, really, anyone who compares "white chocolate" to chocolate either has some screws loose, or is just ignorant.
Caprice: (rofl) ohohoh Ti, you so funnaaaayy.
Inadequate: It's things like these that make me think that there's no way that the two of us could ever be the same type.

By the way, I never said it was actual chocolate-- I was using the common name for it because anyone will know what I'm talking about when I say "white chocolate," even if it's a misnomer.

For protein shakes, I use either dark chocolate almond milk as the medium, or I mix powdered cacao with the whey and casein.

The best dark chocolate I've ever tasted is Blommer, headquartered in Chicago. Lindt also makes some wicked awesome dark chocolate truffles.

Somewhere down the road, I expect to see aphotic chocolate: so dark that it absorbs light.
