    INTPs: What's your Socionics Type?

So I walked into this weird twin of MBTI and decided to give it a try: Socionics.

If you don't know your three-lettered type, do the test here. Also enjoy the descriptions on their wiki to see if they apply.

Myself I seem to be an LII (INTj) which struck a chord with me, though ILI is a close call too. Is it common for INTPs to be LIIs? What's the most common type for us?

Thoughts on this crazy Soviet system? The approach on the cognitive functions looks very different, yet it was interesting how precisely it described some little quirks and behaviours of mine. --

    LII common stereotypes:
The lone repository of truth — the last stalwart in a crazy world of illogic and delusion.
The smart aleck who never lets authorities tell him what to think and always finds a way to get the last word.

^I want those written on my grave. Yo bro.

I got ILI (INTp) and it said my other three possibilities were:

    ILE (ENTp)
    SLI (ISTp)
    LII (INTj)

Makes sense, if I were to doubt being INTP those are exactly the three other types I'd consider.

The general description here seems fairly accurate but I would have to spend a lot more time researching this before I could draw parallels and dissimilarities.

    I got IEI - INFP

    With other likely possibilities:
    ILI - INTP
    IEE - ENFP
    EII - INFJ

Wow, could I be an ENFP in disguise?
    jono thanked this post.

    I got ILI (INTP)
with possible ILE (ENTP), LII (INTJ) and IEI (INFP). The last two are what other not very accurate tests sometimes typed me as, so yeah, this one's pretty accurate.

I never considered this system to be much different from MBTI though. I did some russian socionics tests too (living in a former crazy Soviet country is beneficial here) and they all show basically the same thing. Some test results even had corresponding MBTI types given in brackets for cross-reference, so I never considered this system fundamentally different.

    LII -Result

    Possible Consideration:
    LIE
    EII
    ILI

Crap, you're from Belarus! I should really stop trying to be funny (stupid unorthodox Ne).
Do you really think there's that much correlation between the two systems? I found the equations INTj = INTP and INTp = INTJ on multiple occasions, as well as people disagreeing with them. All this is terribly confusing.

Why? It was funny. These people all around me are truly crazy anyway, did you know they write in gibberish like "привет я говорю по-русски и пишу кириллицей"? Horrifying stuff.

I didn't research socionics extensively. I know that there are several systems by different authors (e.g. Augustinavičiūtė, Gulenko, Panchenko) and at least Gulenko's types seem to completely correlate with MBTI ones. I do feel that socionics are somehow closer to the original Jung's classifications because it takes into account the original 4 Jungian cognitive functions without inventing the J/P dichotomy.
They invent lots of other stuff instead, though. I don't know if it's accepted in the English interpretation, but Russian socionics use names of famous people like Balzac, Napoleon, Hamlet, Victor Hugo, Jack London, etc to name the types. I find it amusing. Also, the symbols they use for different functions: black and white squares, circles, triangles... What's up with that.

Me, personally, I stick to Jung when trying to type people, not MBTI or socionics. You can't go wrong with Jung.

    ILI (INTp)
Maybe ILE (ENTp), IEI (INFp), or LII (INTj)
Interesting, ENTP and INFP were the other two types that my cognitive function test results said that I probably could be...

    Pretty neat test!

    Your result:ILE (ENTp)
These types might also be considered:
    IEE (ENFp)
    ILI (INTp)
    IEI (INFp)
Both the ILE and the ILI seem to fit me pretty well.
