    What are SJs like?

I've never been on your forum before. But I thought I'd post here & ask, what are you guys like?

Your apparently the 'majority' of the general population.

    Protectors (SJ)
    Population Male Female
    ESTJ - Overseer 13% 16% 10%
    ESFJ - Supporter 12% 7% 17%
    ISTJ - Examiner 8.5% 10.5% 6.5%
    ISFJ - Defender 7% 4% 10%
    All SJs 40.5% 37.5% 43.5%

I'm just interested in being better at typing people (I don't want that to come across as a prejudice thing).

Can you provide me with a short/ brief description of what you think best describes SJ's in general?

What makes SJ's differ to the other types?

    @Stephen

I think this thread should be placed in SJ subforum.

    Well, in short:

I'm an ISTJ, and I have an eye for precision and accuracy. I'm a great proofreader, though I don't normally mark up people's posts, I'm just trying to illustrate that here.

What makes SJ's different from the other types?
I'm not too keen on the Keirsey Temperament Sorter. It makes some generalizations that readers apply in a very heavy-handed manner. Some examples from the official Keirsey site:

All Guardians share the following core characteristics:

Guardians pride themselves on being dependable, helpful, and hard-working.
Guardians make loyal mates, responsible parents, and stabilizing leaders.
Guardians tend to be dutiful, cautious, humble, and focused on credentials and traditions.
Guardians are concerned citizens who trust authority, join groups, seek security, prize gratitude, and dream of meting out justice.

That's a short stack of generalizations that imply all kinds of things about who ALL SJs are that are not always true. SJs cheat on their spouses, abuse their children, destabilize nations and economies, show arrogance and passivity in interpersonal relationships, and rebel against traditions that don't suit their world view.

There is so much variance within type that it's hard to lay out specific traits that suit all SJs. Keirsey's really the only source since he made the thing up, and as I said, it's far too easy to put too much weight on it.

If you look at all the types within SJ, there's too much variation from type to type to make global descriptions, in my opinion.
