Taking to long to get the girls number.

Here's my situation, i've known this girl for a few months now, and i think we both like each other. I mean i even asked her out, i'm new to this dating thing so i'm going all crazy in my head because i feel like i'm messing up. We have really good chemistry, we talk, we laugh, and we get along. But i haven't even gotten her number. We only see each other like once a week, so getting her number is my #1 priority. But i feel like such a fool because i haven't done it. I'm in the mindset that it's just a number so it'd be easy to just ask, during just a normal conversation.

Is it bad, that I haven't gotten her number. Am i messing things up for myself? How far can one persons patience go before they give up on you? I'm so confused and i need some words of wisdom to ease my mind.

    Just my take...

Why make a big deal out of this? Couldn't you just ask the next time you see her that, "Oh, just in case I wanted to ask you something could I have your phone number?" or something similar to just get that data? The key here is not to make this into a moment of grand drama as this is a rather simple thing to request. If she presses you on it then you may have a different answer but at least then you'd know where you stand.

Granted I haven't dated much but I'd likely go with the idea that you are making a mountain out of a molehill here. Think of how you'd want to phrase the question of getting her contact information and/or giving her yours, as any of the 3 choices does work here just fine. I'm thinking you are over-analyzing this but that's just my perspective on this.

How would you want someone to ask you for your number/email?

I would want them to be friendly and joking but still got the point across that they wanted to call me so we could hang out not to copy off of my notes or something people who sit by each other in class might do. You want the person to know you are interested but not too interested. Make them feel special once you are in a relationship not before its even started.

Lol, well the bright side of things - if it's still been months of you guys talking, it's a good sign.

But you're on the right mind set, it's not a big deal, don't stress about it and don't make it a bigger deal than it is.

Best way to go about getting it to avoid any awkward situation is to bring it up casually. If you guys are getting along well, ask her if she wants to hang out and perhaps *insert something to do* IE coffee, party, concert, dog walk(always fun for me), hiking, etc. And if she says "Yes" which is most likely, then the obvious logical question proceeds, "Awesome, what's your number?" And you're done!

^ That ought to work. Make sure that your intentions are clear, otherwise you'll find out that she's really with someone else and has been using you for time killing +/ getting free meals.
