Free Energy: A Suppressed Scientific Research?

    ofcourse it is suppressed.

Welcome in the world of politics, in which every world-power tries to seize technology and gain a monopoly on natural resources in order to make the less fortunate dependable.

The funny thing is that a lot of people would ask the question "Why is this technology not everywhere when it is so advanced?" I used to think free energy and anti-gravity was a scam no matter how much websites tried making those claims.

I find it interesting that it is not the lack of peer review, or the lack of open access to the work, or the lack of construction of working prototypes which can be analyzed by others, but the mere idea of there being a political conspiracy afoot which draws in people's attention.

I find it unfortunate that so often devices claiming to be "free energy" are not actually looked at skeptically, especially as it is considered to be pseudoscience. Rather, a man who breaks from understood science, who does not publish his works and refuses to show anyone, not even the media, his device or how it works, is lionized as a victim against supposed corporate greed and academic fraud. It is ironic, given the majority of these devices are devised in the corporate sector, or see companies build around them requesting investment to develop "physics shattering" devices. The eventual loss of all this money in dead ventures and fraudulent technology stands as a monument to the lack of success, regardless of who is involved.

To be frank, the narrative of the political, corporate and academic elite all conspiring to stop free energy from making it onto the market seems far fetched, to say the least. Especially given thousands upon thousands of independent scientists would have to be involved to close off all avenues of publishing work, as well as tens of thousands of people in the corporate field and governments around the world. Investors have been scammed out of their money on these ventures before, whether it was called a perpetual motion machine or a zero-point energy device. Nothing of scientific credence or significance has been published in any peer-reviewed journal, most devices remain hidden from the view of anyone and little to no effort has been made to include scientists from universities, research institutions or governments to see if the technology is relevant at all.

In part this is because they are essentially breaking the laws of physics, or taking leaps down theoretical pathways, and then refuse to say how they did it. Those times when the technology is open for scrutiny, it generally fails to follow up to the hype and is often fraudulent. Unfortunately, due process in taking evidence when someone has been found to be fraudulent, committing crimes like financial malfeasance, and other such situations are skewed into "destroying the evidence."

Steorn Limited, Genesis World Energy, Entropy Systems Incorporated, three companies in recent times which arose on the backs of technology which failed to survive even the most basic independent corroboration. Badini (who they mention, but skip over his absolute refusal to discuss his work), Potapov, Franch, three men who were found to be scientific frauds in the past few years. The works of dozens of people like this have been discredited by everyone from renowned physicists like Richard Feynman (Brownian Ratchet) to ordinary people like the Mythbusters.

Mind, the conspiracy theorists believe Feynman was responsible for the death of one person and the injuries of others when a perpetual motion device proposed by another "scientist" exploded in the faces of observers. Papp continued to get money even though he never created another device, nor provided any literature or theory behind his work. Like others, with a working "prototype" and millions of dollars, nothing was ever produced by hot air, accusations, and eventual claims that they were being suppressed. Like others, they never provided evidence, nor proved able to break the second law of thermodynamics.

Of course, this video makes no attempt to hide its questionable credentials. David Icke, who speaks within Thrive, is infamous in just about every medical field as believing science is a fungus and can be "cured" through methods to combat a fungus. He is also well known for believing we are being controlled by reptilian overlords (they can shape shift) and the moon is one of their spaceships (from which they perform various dastardly deeds). Then we have a Schwarzchild Proton supporter (basically cancer fungus, except in physics), who believes in ancient astronaut theories. But don't worry about fungus, because according to Chopra, another person in this video, cancer can be controlled with your mind -- and by the way, you aren't allergic to anything according to him, that is just poor digestion. Not to mention references to UFOs, incorrect economic facts, and the Illuminati. Several other people with more respectable names seemed shocked to find out what the movie was about afterwards.

I say this to point out the trend in the movie of using questionable sources. Trombly, from all I could find, appears to have no actual credentials, no published works in academic journals, no actual evidence of a gag order, nor apparently compensation for his "lost work." While he tries to explain what he does, his work is already similar to discredited or failed products of the past. Men like Trombly fail to pass muster simply because they break a basic scientific law without bothering to explain how (second law of thermodynamics). There are many sites already debunking large portions of this work already, and I feel with good reason.

My own thoughts, anyways. I prefer to stand with acceptable scientific practice, reason and methodology any day.

I discussed this with my mother the other day. It is my understanding that corporations with a crap ton of money like Shell and BP are also the most powerful and will do anything to stay on top of the ladder. I imagine that if free energy contraptions did work, the companies would be all over this technology, trying to buy it or even steal it from the inventors. This movie is implying the opposite.

I agree with your post @Khar and I'm posting this because I felt that a simple thanks wasn't enough.

I'm going to give another perspective on this subject. People preffer to believe in conspiracies to hide free energy because to think otherwise would be against their faith in the religion of Progress, and a better writer than me explains it clearly this on these posts, though I recomend to read all the blog's entries because they are a gold mine. A warning is in order, don't go in there with a strict ST way of thinking, the author writes, as many NF do, in ways that are not concrete and factical, so if you aren't used to it then read carefully and don't dismiss any of his ideas until you understand them:

The Archdruid Report: The Trouble With Vaporware (this is the most relevant)
The Archdruid Report: Waiting for the Great Pumpkin
The Archdruid Report: The Future Can't Pay Its Bills
The Archdruid Report: Tweedledoom and Tweedledee
The Archdruid Report: Santa Isn't Bringing Gigawatts

To put it in simple terms people are absolutely terrified of limits, because it means that many dearly held ideas about the future, like living in Mars and exploring space, or servant robots, etc., will most likely not happen, but there will be a moment when life as we know it will cease to be viable for a lack of energy available to maintain it. This ideas are obviously as heretical to the followers of Progress as the idea of many gods to Christians because they point to the probability of being wrong, and people don't like to be wrong.

Just so you get a flavor of how ridiculous this guy's invention is...
Earth's magnetic field (at its strongest point)=1 gauss
    Refrigerator Magnet= 100 gauss

Furthermore, astrophysicists and engineers have been looking into methods of harnessing magnetic fields, in particular the sun's magnetic field (which is much stronger than the earth's), for space travel. Magnetic sail - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Of course this is still incredibly weak and it would take forever to get to anywhere.
So thanks for the free energy bit, but I'll keep my money on fusion.

LMAO. If these bozos are being hounded by the feds its for committing fraud and if they're being attacked by others its likely because they've cheated someone out of their money. All their promises are so much crap. All any of them has ever had to do is power a single house off the grid but they don't because they can't.

Why has progress become a religion? How come people have come to believe all progress to be good?
