    This article, beyond mere issues of gender, reveals anything is more interesting when it can be applied to something you find interesting. Seems like common sense to me.

    I think the bigger concern is trying to reverse the decline of interest in science in general.

    Honestly and I don't mean to be rude, but that has got to be the stupidest study I've ever seen. Of course people want to study what is interesting and applicable to them. I agree though that decline in the interest of science is rather appalling.
