I've been wondering about whether there is a correlation between one's Perceiving/Judging preference and the likelihood of obtaining the Scientist or Bibliophile result.
Based on my data collection until post #170, here are my results after using a significance test of proportions (assuming that 5% of the data is due to chance):
1. There is no significant difference between the number of Perceivers who are Scientists and the number of Perceivers who are Bibliophiles. In other words, if you are a Perceiver, you have almost equal chances of obtaining either result.
2. There is a significant difference between the number of Judgers who are Scientists and the number of Judgers who are Bibliophiles. Judgers are more likely to be Bibliophiles than Scientists.
3. There is a significant difference between the number of Perceivers who are Scientists and the number of Judgers who are Scientists. Perceivers are more likely to be Scientists than Judgers.
4. There is no significant difference between the number of Perceivers who are Bibliophiles and the number of Judgers who are Bibliophiles. Neither a Perceiver nor a Judger is more likely to be Bibliophiles.
There are some issues with the methodology here, but my brain is too foggy right now to process them. Anyone interested can help me point this out, and maybe I'll continue this discussion.
Raw Data:
Perceiver - Scientist = 22
Perceiver - Bibliophile = 26
Judger - Scientist = 7
Judger - Bibliophile = 19
