    How to Center Yourself?

I guess NT's may tend to be "head in the clouds". I find this problem leads to me getting thrown off balance when in a situation where people are scrutinizing you, because I am not sure where to look or what to focus on, and feel wide-eyed and exposed.

First solution I learnt was through some hypnosis, which was to pinch a certain part of my clothing. since then I refined this and only do that for the most serious situations, now generally, I can center myself simply through narrowing my eyes, especially, left eye, and breathing slowly. It works almost instantly and helps to focus me.

Has anybody else had similair issues or solutions?

Yeah, it happens to me a lot. I'm a herp derp in real world. But I get someone else to solve real world problems for me, really.

Center yourself = An overly dreamy way of asking: what is the best way to think, feel and be.

I believe it means "focus" and keep controlled. At least that is what I meant.

I have this problem, but was too occupied with my own thoughts to think of a solution. I will try yours...

    Honestly?

    I have a coffee and a cigarette.

And I detest the notion of having my head in the clouds. I may be tall but am not THAT tall.

...that sounds like the NLP "Anchoring" technique. And I used to use it, on myself and other people... especially when I needed to kick a "mood" when I was about to go out, or I'm around people and something triggers a "mood". State-Break, fire off the anchor, good to go lol.

Now, if I run into situations that I can't naturally disassociate from, I'll run the memory script stuff... changing submodalties, fast-phobia/trauma cure, and belief shifting scripts.

I've gotten to the point where I pretty much don't have to use the stuff anymore, but it was a godsend when I first came upon it.

I usually took a deep breath. Back in high school I used to try on meditation to quiet my mind. I focus on my breathing whilst meditating. I did it on and off though. Yet somehow after all these years I could silence my mind by simply taking a deep breath.
I'm guessing it is possible to reach relaxed attentiveness.

Get focused on the goal of whatever it is I'm doing.

Hopefully it's a strength area and something I've prepared for, as the less there are of those two things, the less I'll be able to reduce my self-consciousness and get into the moment.
