over foreboding, sometimes I'll know a character will die just by the overall demeanor in which the author sets them up

@Niccolo Machiavelli Watch The Last American Virgin for a realistic ending.

I don't like unrealistic romances, glaring inconsistencies/inaccuracies, or overly dramatic garbage.
Did anyone else argue with the TV when they see previews for Limitless? "You can use 100% of your brain!" Its a widely debunked myth - we use 100% of our brains. I can let alot of stuff go (like the time machine in Terra Nova where people walk single file through it and come out single file on the other end), but I can't believe nobody fact checked that one and advertised it like that.
Sadly, still plan on seeing it one day because I heard it was half decent.
I can't stand to see new character traits introduced simply for the sake of a plot line. For instance, there was an X-Files episode titled "First Person Shooter" that was genuinely awful. In that episode, it was heavily implied that the Lone Gunmen and Mulder were all gamers, but this was never mentioned before or after this crap episode. I require consistency in my television characters.
I'm not to nit picky with fiction in general, otherwise you'll die from the stress. It does need to be consistent and logical, else I get turned off. Stupid characters that are not funny are just plain annoying and so are to many lifeless stock characters.
I do have a bone to pick with romance story lines. The reconciliation part always kills me, its almost always something happens by chance and everything's happy again. And then there is that 2nd character they create that is meant to shake the main couple that you know stands no chance and its always apparent that he/she has no chance in hell. The female leads seem to always need the male lead to be complete them/raise em socially/economically/emotionally and yet the male is strong/smart/rich enough to not really need the female lead at all. Ok enough griping..
