The first, obviously. Though it seems tragic, I would rather accomplish everything in life than be a useless waste of space.
Consider this hypothetical example:
You cannot move, see, or hear. You are not that intelligent either. But you are well loved! Everything is fine, right?
You have no way of expressing yourself and must have everything done for you.
Such a life is meaningless.
