She wants a logical, well reasoned-out proof that racism is bad. Without a good, logical reason, she feels that her freedom to express herself is stifled because she believes she's been indoctrinated with the idea that racism is bad. She's also saying that the reasons MLK, Jr. gives in my signature's quote are inadequate because just doing the right thing without a logical reason isn't good enough for her.
@3teal2penguin6: Sorry if it sounds like I put you or your post in a negative light. Totally unintentional; just trying to be informative.

Well, we may need to define "racism" before we proceed.
I am by no means politically correct about this issue; I actually consider myself something of a "racialist."
Alright, now I am starting to regret posting. I feel evil. Oh my god. Pinkrasputin, please delete the quote. I am terminating this thread.

I don't know about "logic" and "reason". I also don't know about doing "the right thing".
I just know my ass was beaten quite frequently in elementary school for being a "spic" or "burrito butt" daily. It was not because of my actions (I loved everyone I met), but merely because my last name ended with "E-Z".
I never had a chance to judge another based on "racial" bias. Too many were busy judging me. I was always trying to just fit in.
The "N" word never passed my lips and makes me want to vomit to this day if I ever hear it pass another's lips.
There is no logic in my understanding. I grew up feeling like the "other". I just don't want to make another person feel that way.
Neither do I. At least not in this scenario.
The right thing is what your value system, or your conscience, tells you is "right." If you don't want to make another person feel the same way you do/did, then... the "right thing" is to not make another person feel the same way you do/did.I also don't know about doing "the right thing".

I grew up feeling like the "other". I just don't want to make another person feel that way.I don't give hugs, but... consider this as close to one as I'll give. (I'm not "white," and I don't know if you are, but I've basically never felt judged like that. Maybe I'm just oblivious to my surroundings... Your last name doesn't tell me much, besides that you *might* be a Latina, which still... doesn't tell me much.)
Did my attempt at subliminal messaging, hiding under the guise of a clearly flawed attempt to be unbiased, uncritical, and objective, actually work?
Just kidding! Really. Admittedly, I did give in to my own urges to frame your post negatively, but I wasn't trying to make you feel bad, especially because some people (Azrael?) like or want to discuss the subject. The more reasons for convincing people not to perpetuate racism or be racist, the better...
omg, Megatron. Stop promoting the false stereotype that Ts are evil, logical, cold and without regret.
This really is a subjective question, and I doubt there are many answers (logical, or otherwise) that will easily convince your views. Exposure and conditioning, anyone?
Looking at it from a completely logical, detached view, the answer to your question will be the same as the reason why many people refrain from partaking in behaviours that are considered deviant by society: because you will get a lot of shit from people by practicing this. The consequence most likely will outweigh the profit, and thus you should not do it.
Also: Off topic, but anyone, not just NTs, have the ability to form a logical answer.![]()

If we define "racism" as the belief in the superiority of a particular race(s), or the inferiority of a particular race(s), then it is simply illogical.
There is no way to infer a causal connection between negative traits or behaviors and skin color.
However, I am not interested in denying common differences between races for the sake of being politically correct.
I am not afraid to say "black people tend to run faster than other races" or "Asians often display a better aptitude in math than others."
Of course, one must always be aware when using generalities or stereotypes that they do not apply universally, and therefore cannot be used to judge individuals.
As you can see, I disagree that this is a subjective issue. There is no way to logically justify racism.
