    Pissed off an NF

I've done it. I've managed to piss of my ENFJ friend with an overly sarcastic joke. I need help so that she doesn't dismember me. I've explained to her about it, but I need to be able to make sure that she truly understands my erros and why I made it. Should I send her a poem? A song? A metaphorical parable about what it's like to be me?

It couldn't hurt. What was the joke?

Write her a poem, then post it here. I'd LOVE to see what an INTP to ENFJ poem looked like, for once my imagination fails me.
You could also always just say you're really sorry.

I've told her that I'm really sorry.
This is the message I sent her:

"I should not have posted those hurtful things. I am emotionally a total mess. I have reason on one side demanding logic and order. I have soul-consuming wrath on another side about how I've always beeen excluded and vilified. I have fear on another side because I've always been rejected and beleive that I truly cannot ever be worth anything to a person as a person. I have hope on another side because I beleive that you are a person who could understand me. I have doubt screaming at me that this message is pointless and that you won't care. I finally have hope that you might understand my twisted mind and feelings. Hope is the small voice that you can only hear when you wake up from a nightmare."

Did you say sorry, before you wrote this? I see yourself tearing yourself apart in it for what you did and hoping she can understand, but I don't really see you addressing her hurt feelings.
Let her know directly that you're really hurting because you hurt her, you'd take it back if you could, and you won't do it again.

Awww! *hugs* That's one of the most amazing things ever, to see you reveal your vulnerability so openly. I hope she forgives you.

Um...it's all about you, and yet she was the one with the hurt feelings?

These stange NF beasts are all about the way they feel. I would just send her a note saying that you are terribly sorry that you have hurt her, tell her how lovely she is and why you don't want to lose her friendship. Make it about her!

How would I know, in my little rational soul? I've been married to an ENFJ for some years, and cause unintended pain fairly frequently, I think. I'm not sure you can make it all right, to be honest, you have to make it up in other ways. (No sniggering at the back there, that wasn't what I meant).

Thank you for the advice guys! Free beers/whatever luxury food/beverage you want on me.

"Thank you for this letter. I'll talk to you at school about this. But I'm not mad, I know that you realize what you did was upsetting.
    Thank you again."

You have no idea how glad I am that she's not going to bite my head off.

And luckily, we'll have an opportunity for us to discuss this together face to face.
