    MBTI and The Tarot

The tarot and MBTI has so much in common that it is ridiculous.
It is like the type profiles are written on the basis of the tarot face cards.

Anyone who knows how this correlation/copying came about?

Nope. Don't know anything about this at all.
Don't even know what these correlations are
supposed to be. Would like to know, though.
    Will you tell me?

Ah, I went and looked it up already. But still,
    talk to me about it.

what is the significance of this correlation to
    you?

    16 types/16 face cards.
    4 temperaments/4 suits.

And they just happen to describe it the same.

Lets look at the Queen of swords -ENTP.
    QUEEN OF SWORDS

Honest faces the truth, even if unpleasant
    is up front with everyone
    likes everything on the table
    plays by the rules
    avoids lies and deception
Astute sizes up a situation quickly
    understands hidden motives and desires
is difficult to fool, trick or con
figures out the unspoken rules and agendas
    is quick on the uptake
Forthright is direct and open in all dealings
gets to the heart of the matter
    acts without pretense or guile
    is straightforward and no-nonsense
    can be candid when necessary
Witty has a delightful sense of humor
diffuses awkward situations with a funny remark
    never takes anything too seriously
laughs at everything, including him or herself
Experienced has seen and done it all
has strength due to life's hard knocks
    is free of self-righteous judgments
    has realistic expectations
What I'm trying to find out here is why this connect exist.
    Is it Myers doing?
Or is it the authors of type profiles?
Or maybe the authors of tarot descriptions copies MBTI?
Or is it Jung who made the functions archetypaly relevant and therefore correlated with the tarot?

I want some input on this topic so I can better understand how all these connect.

I think it's just coincidence and I don't really know Tarot but it's fun! what are the face cards? the page, knight, king, queen?
    Knight of Swords ESTJ
    Knight of Cups INFP?

No it is too consistent too be a coincidence.
    Swords - thinking
    Pentacles - sensing
    Cups - feeling
    Wands - intuition

    Swords are the NT's.
    Wands are the SP's
    Pentacles are the SJ's
    Cups are the NF's

What I want to point out is that this is where I believe all the stereotypes was imported from.
MBTI has departed from JCF and become a pit of traits and stereotypes that muddles the functions.

I thing you are into something interesting here. The description of the Queens of Swords sounds more ESTP than ENTP though.

jokes. I don't really know anything about Tarot, I wasn't aware they were categorized like that. You would probably have to look at the history of both...

It seems that they are not a perfect fit when you try to go top down.
You are right that it sounds more like the ESTP stereotype.
I'm to tired to type them correctly right now and the guides are inconsitent, but if someone is interested.

    Great job!

    I think:

    Swords:
Knight - INTJ (I think ENTJ's gives orders naturally)
King - ENTJ (I think INTJ's is comfortable in the world of the mind)

    Cups:
    Queen - INFJ (Yes)
    Page - ENFP (Probably)

    Wands
    Knight - ESFP (Yes)
    Queen - ISFP (Yes)
