ENFJ - The Givers
INFP - The Idealists
This is how I would type these people.....
Jean-Jacques Rousseau - Possibly INFP, but definitely Fi-dom
Frida Kahlo - INFJ....this is so obvious!
Woody Allen - I thought he was an NT....
F. Scott Fitzgerald - I would think ISFP, maybe even ISFJ
Lady Gaga - INFJ, but it's interesting she's typed here as her opposite...she's got the INFJ "SP envy" I think
Steve Jobs - I've seen good cases made for ENTJ.
Bill Gates - ISTJ?
Frederic Nietzsche - possibly INFJ, or else an INTJ in a Ni-Fi loop
Barack Obama - Probably an NFJ
Charles Darwin - I'd go with a TJ of some kind
Thomas Jefferson - I've seen some good cases made for INFJ
Hillary Clinton - Not ISTJ?
Princess Diana - ISFP
Charlotte Bronte - INFJ....she's totally an introvert, how odd to make her an E....
Leo Tolstoy - INFP, but I know some would disagree. The character Levin in Anna Karenine is supposed to reflect his own personality quite closely, and that character is clearly an introvert.
Carl Jung - INTP, IMO, based on his own description of preferring thinking first & intuition second
Emily Bronte - INFP
Oprah Winfrey - I've seen some good cases made for her being ESTJ.
Thomas Hardy - INFP, heavy on the symbolism and liked to challenge the social mores of the day, definitely does NOT fit Keirsey's idea of an SJ anyway.
INTJ - The Scientists
I'm not sure about these.
Disagree with these.
F. Scott Fitzgerald
ENFJ - The Givers
The list of ENFJs makes me happy.
I've read somewhere, however, that Bill Clinton's an ENFP. It seemed to fit him IMO. I don't know if Clinton's a Sensor? I always saw him as iNtuitive 'cause he seemed idealistic. But maybe I see most liberals as iNtuitives. :P
Also, I've seen Lincoln listed as INTP and ENFJ before. But this has him as ENTP?! Does anyone know which one he is? Ne, Ti, and Fe are all very different functions, how could he be considered all three?
ENTP - The Visionaries
I read a little bit on Thomas Jefferson recently.. he was definitely an INFJ and not an INTP- one with well-developed Ti but Ni and Fe both seemed to play a much larger role in how he went about his role as a Founding Father. The conflict between him and Adams seems like an F/T conflict in many ways.
Also, despite biographies describing him as "reserved", he has also been described as personable and friendly which suggests strongish Fe.
Keirsey types people based on "roles" rather than personality types, so I guess he seems more like an "Architect" than a "Counselor".
INFP - The Idealists
For what it's worth Charles XII of Sweden does seem to be ISTP although I suspect some would type him as INTJ because of his interest in science and his leadership. I suspect he had aspergers.
I don't think Isaac Asimov was INTJ, more likely ISTJ. His books are more or less mystery or adventure novels in SF disguise. He doesn't introduce and new ideas. And it's also hard to imagine the deeply religious Newton as INTJ.
INTJ - The Scientists
Not in the 17th century it isn't. Also, C.S. Lewis was probably an INTJ. Stereotyping at it's finest...not.
And it's also hard to imagine the deeply religious Newton as INTJ.
INFJ - The Protectors
Yea I mean because Kiersey's temperaments are fairly broad and he's not taking functions into account its hard to disagree with him. There's a few of these where I can see them making sense from a Kiersey temperament standpoint that don't make sense from a Cognitive Function standpoint. Like Donald Trump clearly has an Extraverted Thinking preference, but he would probably fit Kiersey's ESTP profile too. Steven Speilberg is also clearly a Fe-type but he also fits Kiersey's ISFP.
So knowing that Kiersey tosses the functions out the window it's hard to disagree that say Thomas Jefferson isn't an INTP or Bill Clinton ESFP. Of course we know that Jung was by his own admission a Thinking type. Generally speaking, though I think most of these are fairly close. Obama as INTJ is interesting, I could see someone making a case for this (he's been typed as everything under the rainbow by the way). Newton is both functionally and temperamentally an INTJ.
INTJ - The Scientists
Johnny Carson (I've also seen ISFJ for him, which seems more fitting imo)
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Steven Spielberg (I've heard INFJ for him, which seems more feasible also, I guess)
Charles XII of Sweden
Katherine Hepburn (I've always wanted to know Kiersey's reasoning behind this)
Woody Allen (Heh, no way. INFP is a lot closer, I and other sources think)
Judy Garland [B](I've seen ENFP for her as well)[B]
Nikita Khrushchev (I've seen ENFJ)
Marilyn Monroe (ISFP! Dead wrong here)
Ronald Reagan (Eh...controversial - I tend to hear ENFJ a lot more often...)
George W. Bush (ESTJ)
Winston Churchill (No way. The guy was probably ENTJ or ENTP)
Franklin Delano Roosevelt
F. Scott Fitzgerald (Controversial...I think ISFP seems closer, but who knows)
J. Paul Getty
Ernest Hemingway (ISFP?) Kiersey prolly stereotyped his rugged, masculine persona imo
John F. Kennedy (I've heard ENFJ also *shrugs*)
Lady Gaga (LOL. She's a blatant Fi type, let alone, F type)
Lyndon B. Johnson
George S. Patton
Theodore Roosevelt (Eh...not so sure about that...maybe)
Donald Trump (Fi type - likely ENTJ)
Abraham Lincoln (Uh...thought he was an introvert and dominant judging type)
J. Buckminster Fuller (Never heard that for him before - I doubt ENTP for him)
Nikola Tesla (I've heard INTJ for him, which seems more convincing imo)
Bill Gates (ENTJ)
Dwight D. Eisenhower
Ulysses S. Grant
Isaac Asimov (Controversial - likely not?)
Barack Obama (Noooooo...Fe type, most likely INFJ)
Peter the Great
William F. Buckley Jr.
Marie Curie (I've heard a lot of other types for her, including ISTJ)
Charles Darwin (Maybe?)
George Soros (maybe??)
Gregory Peck (maybe??)
Harper Lee (LOLOL! No way - definitely not an inferior F type)
Thomas Jefferson (Eh...likely INTJ or INFJ based on the Ken Burns documentary I've seen)
Steve Wozniak (I've heard ENTP)
Frederick Douglass (Um, why? Maybe...)
George Bernard Shaw (?)
Hillary Clinton (I dunno...that or INTJ or even INFJ?)
John Adams (Nope! ENTP)
George C. Marshall
Napoleon Bonaparte (Maybe ENTP?)
William Tecumseh Sherman (I suspect ESTP from my research...)
Rick Warren (why???)
Aldous Huxley (I've heard more compelling arguments for INTJ for him)
Anne Morrow Lindbergh
George Orwell (Maybe...I've always wondered about the reasoning behind this though)
Isabel Myers (Lol, definitely)
Mia Farrow (why??)
Richard Gere (I've heard INFJ also)
Carl Rogers (INFP for him)
Molly Brown (why?)
Nelson Mandela (INFJ. I don't buy ENFP at all)
Carl Jung (Noo...low, low F type, likely ISTP or maybe INTP)
Emily Dickinson (Really? Why not INFP?)
Jane Goodall (I've seen ISFP also)
Mary Baker Eddy
Mohandas Gandhi (INFP or INFJ? Vicky Jo has an idea anyway)
Pope John Paul II
Ralph Nader (I've heard INFP for him also...no idea, really)
Andrea Mitchell (I wonder why...)
George H.W Bush
Kareem Abdul Jabbar
King George VI
Tsar Nicholas II
Louis B. Mayer
Sam Walton (really?)
William Howard Taft
Dan Rather (or ISTJ?)
George Washington (thought he was typically ISTJ?)
Jimmy Carter (LOL. More like, polar opposite. INFJ)
Judge Judy (or ESTP?)
Queen Elizabeth I
Sandra Day O’Connor
Harry S. Truman
James K. Polk
John D. Rockefeller
Queen Elizabeth II
Booker T. Washington
James Joyce (No.)
Lord Arthur Russell Wallace
Pearl S. Buck
Soren Kierkegaard (why?)
Oliver Wendell Holmes
Thomas Hardy (why?)
