What personality type is most concerned with personality types?

Hi I'm a brand new ENFP on this forum. So you can expect more fishing for compliments on the boards. I didn't want to mess around with intros and just get to my first question.

Are some personality types more inclined to concern themselves with personality types?

Here is an example from my life. I've always been into this sorta stuff at a lay level. I never studied it past 101 in college, but liked finding about about who people are and what makes them tick. I think that is pretty normal for an enfp. Now my wife, who I'm pretty sure is an INTJ could possibly get into it, but it's like I have to convince her. Taking what I think her type is into account it may be that she doesn't see the point. My guess would be my type is more inclined to look into these type of things whiles her's only will out of necessity.
That's where the idea came from, but there are plenty of other types. Do any of the functions lend to being interesting in this sort of thing? Is there are disproportionate representation of any particular type on the boards?

I would have actually thought that INTJ's would be very much inclined to this sort of theory. Almost totally because of the fact that Te works as an organisational powerhouse for INTJ's it sifts infomation and allows to build up a theory or a system of something, I've found the MBTI very attractive as a result. And if you look at the % of INTJ's on this forum and compare to real life, there is a huge number here but very little in the real world.

Also, welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy your time here.

I don't know. I wouldn't be surprised if it is INFJs, though. Jung pretty much described the world as a ver well developed INFJ sees it, rather than simply inventing a model of the psyche by systematically collecting data. I'm not on the level of Jung, but, I can see where he came from. He gave INFJs vocabulary to express themselves and exchange information in a way that they couldn't really before.

Well, with my INTJ it seems like she doesn't see it as immediately useful so she doesn't care a whole lot. I usually have to convince her into some of the more frivolous in life. For us it isn't useful outside of our relationships at this time. I do think if she new more she could deal with somethings better though.

I was also wondering if certain types were more likely to dabble while other really commit and study and even make a profession out of some of this stuff. Would the type that creates a theory or system wouldn't necessarily make others of the same type interested in it.
Oh I have a friend from another forum who is an INFJ who is really interested in this.

Well, from what I've been told INFJs make up about 1-2% of the population but I stumbled on some research that says we make up 10% of searches in search engines. Assuming that people who aren't INFJs aren't looking us up constantly, it suggests we have a much higher interest in personality types (at least our own personality type) than other people. Disclaimer: I didn't look too deeply at this research so not sure how reliable it is.

For anyone who cares, INTJ was highest, INFP second and ISTP was lowest.

INFJ's love this type of stuff because it helps us understand other people and somehow understanding other people either helps us grow or gives us another type to emulate. Some how we think we have it in us to be ALL the types at some point. Lastly I think the more we learn about ourselves (INFJ) the more we feel comfortable being weird since we are a rare type.

INTJ or INFP. Introversion + Fi (introspective and needing to understand emotions and intentions) + intuition (interest in abstract theory).

That was great little stat there though. That is exactly the kind of think I'm interested in.

You could present the benefit of the Jungian cold call

"so, who here feels that their own needs aren't as important as those of others? You? Alright, step right over here..."

    Information is power.
