    What makes you different?

Most of us match our type portraits with an accuracy of 70%. Because functions are tendencies and we always fall in some point in between, we dont always match our portraits entirely. What is it that makes you different from your type?

In my case, i differ from my type on these:

    I) INTPs are supposed to avoid conflict, to the extent of keeping their opinions to themselves if they feel like they will cause trouble. I dont have a problem with conflict unless it gets out of hand.

    N) I match everything regarding N

    T) INTPs are not very good at talking about their feelings. This doesnt happen with me. I guess since my T/F are pretty much balanced, I can address my feelings verbally easily, this doesnt mean I find it easier to understand my feelings or to express them naturally in a physical way.

    P) Unlike INTPs, I cant find rest until I make up my mind about a decision. Im not indecisive and I never postpone decisions cause uncertainty makes me really anxious. I also learned how to keep procrastination at bay.

    ESTP - The Doers

    Good topic.

E and S for me are pretty by the book.

T - Lately I am way more sensitive and I mean that in a loving, kind, helpful, flirty, angry and confrontational way. I finally feel like it might be subsiding a bit. Hopefully now I will be witty, kind, slightly flirty, and confrontational in a non angry way.

P- This is where I differ the most. I am a strategist and slight planner and like my ESTP counterparts i find I lack the thrill seeking/addictive personality.

    INTP - The Thinkers

My strongest "deviation from norm" would simply be that I can talk "F" very well and I don't have an issue now in my life with having to navigate F-style society. I have a nicely developed Fe mask I can wear in public and thus not seem socially inept at all (even if inside I'm terrified). I also respect F-style thinking as long as it's internally consistent and open to new ideas. Still, the same sensitivity to F people though has left me also susceptible to a lot of anxiety in my life that I've had to work through; some INTPs seem completely immune to other people's opinions of them or anxieties, but I tend towards the other extreme even if in the end I choose to operate as I need to in order to remain autonomous. Likewise I have a strong aesthetic/artistic sense of what goes together -- something that some INTPs have and other INTPs don't have at all.

Along with that, although I really am an introvert (for many years almost completely in isolation), I really like people and understand/exploring them in total and I can seem much more extroverted in the right environments. However, it drains me horribly, and I pay for the energy burn later. It's probably more my Ne in play there, momentarily overriding my introverted functions.

Overall I think it's the strong N that is playing out over top T or I here -- it's the main function through which I deal with people. When I feel confident, the Ne overrides the typical I tendencies, and it lets me accurately intuit people's F frameworks even if I don't naturally view the world as they do. More "traditional" INTPs tend to get really anchored in their own Ti framework instead and use that even when interacting with people; I just reserve that for my own private world but switch to a more NeFe style interaction with others.

I don't have all these psychic instances.

I am not into political activism, even behind the scenes.

I almost never appear extroverted - I'm a textbook introvert.

Other than those, all the type descriptions I remember reading have pretty much been on target.

    ISFJ - The Nurturers

I look really innocent...but I have an incredibly perverse mind, and am very outspoken and open about it.

    INTP - The Thinkers

I'm not sure about my NT, but I'm definately an I (it's my strongest one) and I have gotten J instead of P on tests before.

    ENTP - The Visionaries

I'm not much of an optimist, really, as ENTPs apparently are supposed to be. I mean, I can be extremely confident that things will work and I guess that can look like optimism, but thats more like colorful exception. In general I have a pessimistic outlook on life.

I don't think im better than everyone else. Claiming superiority seems common among ENTPs and NTs in general. I love my talents, but I don't think people are worthless because they don't have them.

I don't like casual sex, wich seems to be an ENTP thing. I like casual flirting with pretty much everyone, but not sex. Its no moral restriction or anything like that, it just doesn't interest me much.

    ISTP - The Mechanics

I - INTJs are known to be serious and keep to themselves, but that's not much like me most of the time. I talk to anyone and everyone who dares approach me and doesn't piss me off.

N - I live life on a day-to-day basis and just take it as it comes.

T - I don't find it at all difficult to connect with people or talk about feelings and relationships like most INTJs do.

J - Going back to what I said about my Iness, I'm not very serious.

You can probably see why my test results rarely have any consistency.

INTP's aren't know to be competitive, but I am very much into competition. It's just that I don't show it, and keep to it to myself as part of my strategies. I always try to be on top of everyone, if I find someone is catching up to me or has hidden potential I get threatened, and try my best to limit that threat. I'm very passive aggressive about my competitive nature though, I'll never go up to someone and tell them to watch their back, or be careful, but rather insult that person and call it 'dry humour' or 'sarcasm' lol.

But overall I think it just ties into my playful nature, I never take competition too seriously, I love to have a good laugh while I'm at it, but I am a terrible loser. You do no want to see me lose.
