It was posted in the ISTJ thread about how they listen to music and it caught my interest. From majority of the posts from ISTJs, they disclosed that what is important to them are the lyrics and meaning of the songs. I just had a conversation yesterday with an ENFP who has an ISTJ wife and he said EXACTLY the same thing about her.
So how do you think different types listen to music/songs?
My ISTP husband seem to look for interesting lyrics with a cool tune. The lyrics don't have to mean anything, as long as they sound cool.
For me, I listen to the song with regards to how it sounds first: does it have a good tune, a good arrangement, a good singer (with good being subjective of course). If I don't like it, it does not matter, I don't do anything, I may still listen to it when it comes onto the radio but nothing more. If I like it, then I'd look for the lyrics and even the lifestyle of the singer/group to see if their values and principles are acceptable.
