Imagine you are at a lunch buffet . There's lots of food!
    • With Ni, you hold on to your plate and take the best food from each serving. You be picky.
    • With Ne you take many plates and grab as many servings as you can. You don't care whether it's taste good or bad, you just want to try it all.

So in conclusion, Ne's are fat.....

    lol... just kidding
    Hahaha we mentally obese!
Actaully, I think that Ni would get 5 portions of rice pudding. Then experience each serving with a different state of mind... Rice puddin while thinkning about that embarrassing momment when you forgot to put pants on while driving to work, while thikining about that hilarious Chapelle skit, while thinking about banana pudding...

Ok I got it... I finally got it!

You need to have all functions to see things at different angles

Te, Ti, Ne, Ni, Se, Si, Fe, Fi

    All of them!

That's why old people are wise

Most people are shortsighted. So it's only natural that some of them make it to leading positions through tradition. In professional society, if you bang your head against the same wall for long enough, someone will eventually open the door for you out of duty if you've been loyal enough. That's why you see idiots in leading positions.

I would guess that developing Ni (perspective shifting) and Ne (Mind-mapping) would be the best bet. I would bet that most of the NT's and NF's would possess this ability.

Throughout my career, I've seen many managers and even CEOs who don't have this ability at all. They are extremely short sighted and always believe their way is the best way to do things. In some cases they completely ignore other viewpoints

My question, which cognitive function helps running this ability?
Ni is best at this, and Fi is pretty good at it too. I'm very good at this, because I use a pretty good amount of both of these functions.

Obviously, everybody will throw up their own main function(s) as the important function, and so will I.

Ni is the function that is most capable of viewing an issue at many different angles. Ni together with Te (thus the INTJ and to a lesser extend the ENTJ as well) is the combination of functions that is most detached from anything that might allow personal preferences to block certain angles.

In my experience the ENTJ has difficulties allowing people to do things their way. You´re an ENTJ and being on the subordinate side of this conflict you´re describing you´re seeing this as a huge problem because ENTJ's often want to do things their way. If you would be on the other side, you may actually find it difficult to let people do things their way. By experience I know that ENTJ's have this difficulty, not so much on a detail level, but when you´re talking on a strategy level, ENTJ's don't accept anything but their own strategy. They are "see first, then believe" people.

INTJ's on the other hand are "believe first, then see" people. If it works in their minds, then it will happen like that. Ni Te does this.

The problem with INTJ's however is that this "looking at an issue from all angles" happens mostly in their minds. All you get is the final conclusion. If you´re able to deal with an INTJ and ask the right questions, you'll get an insight in this process and all the angles that were considered by Ni.

What I like to do is set up a meeting and develop something in the meeting. But this is development. When it's an issue that needs to be resolved quickly, there will be no meeting, only an order to do something with a quick explanation on how and why.

Since you're asking which one sees, you can pretty much rule out judging functions; only perceiving functions see.

I'm INFP and tend to do that always, especially when it's about people in conflict. I really want to understand both view points, even in movies or series when there is characters who've done very bad things etc.
