    Personality Types of whole Countries?

    *******Disclosure***********************************************************************

I am not trying to ruffle anyone's feathers or come across as racist, etc, etc, just looking to learn something new.

I have been searching to see if there is some kind of list of countries and what Myers Briggs type they would be. There seems to be a list for just about everything else, from Cartoons to Presidents. Oh wait, they're one of the same, anyway, I find it hard to believe there isn't some kind of list for this on the Internet.

How is this helpful to me or why do I care?

First, I want to travel outside of the US some more. I know there are plenty of "Stereotypes" of each nationality, and was wondering if this translates into a dominate Personality Type? Example: I grew up in Chicago,(big melting pot of nationalities) most of my friends were Italian, I can only think of one person out of all the people I interacted with, that was "Introverted", the rest were very out-going. Then if I went over to Chinatown, I'd get this mix of people who were quite or reserved, and other's were out-going. Seem to be a bigger difference between Males / Females and types in Chinatown then with my Italian friends.

I understand culture / up-bringing has to do with a lot of the ways we act, but take my Italian friends, would there be a better chance of them being an Exxx, over an Ixxx?

The Second reason this is kind of an interest has to do with understanding a different country's way of doing business or handling public relations. One thing that comes to mind (sore subject for many, but it's a good example) has to do with that TV show "Whale Wars" and their battle with the Japanese fishing companies / government. Since I started studying Chinese / Mandarin, I have learned a little bit about "saving face" and "giving face." I understand a culture like the Chinese and Japanese, as with a lot of people, will dig there heels in deeper when someone tries to bully or tell them what they can and can not do.

If a country or person is more stubborn or gives in easier, does this make them more likely to be one type over another?

Is there a general personality type for each country?

    Respectfully,

    SirDude

Thank you, and I swear, well, that's a given, but I cross my heart that I have been doing a search on here and on Google looking for this info.

    Thanks.

So what I am seeing with all these different threads, is that no one or no research company or Government has complied a list? I am finding this hard to believe.

When I did my personality tests, every test came back something like "SirDude is an ENFP, and ENFP males make up 5 - 8 % of the population. So that right there tells me that someone group has the information about all the people that have taken the tests and from each country.

Heck, the US government will spend millions of dollars doing a study to tell people useless stuff. Here's a small sample of what governments will spend money on.

Several years ago the United States funded a study to determine why the head on a man's penis is larger than the shaft. The study took 2 years and cost over $180,000.00. The results of the study concluded that the reason the head of a man's penis is larger than the shaft was to provide the man with more pleasure during sex.

After the results were published, Germany decided to conduct their own study on the same subject. They were convinced that the results of the U.S. study were incorrect. After three years of research and cost an excess of $250,000.00, they concluded that the head of a man's penis is larger than the shaft to provide the women with more pleasure during sex.

When the results of the German study were released, The Boy Scouts of America decided to conduct their own study as part of their effort to seem more in tune with the free thinking of modern times.. The Boy Scouts didn't really trust the U.S. or German studies. So after nearly three weeks of intensive research and at a cost of right around $75.00, the Boy Scout study reached a conclusion.

Thus they published the results of their findings that the reason the head on a young man's penis is larger than the shaft, is to prevent his hand from flying off and hitting
    him in the forehead.
Come on people, there has to be a useless, I mean an Official List out there somewhere!

Found a book that sounds like it covers this question, but it's $178.

I don't know about the coke, but I agree it should come with something to blow my...um...mind.

Shortly after finding that book, I found a different forum that has a career page for "managers" and it listed the percentages of each MBTI for Canada, US, and Mexico. I know this info is out there somewhere, I think I am just wording my search wrong since I am so new to all this.
