When you are given extended social time, and you take a nap instead

When asking the store clerk for help gives you minor trauma

When you won't jog in your neighborhood because you would be mortified if you actually ran into someone you know

When you've wished upon a star for (or tried to invent) some sort of invisibility device

When you go to check out at a cashier and they ask you if you want to sign up for twenty different things, you walk away feeling like you've done a weeks worth of socializing just declining the "offers".

When your idea of a successful Saturday is running to the book store and finding three different books to keep you busy for the week ahead.

When you literally get tired from watching commercials. Seriously, they bounce around so much and half the time, contain nothing even remotely relating to what they're advertising. (Maybe this one is just me)

Bahahaha! That's soooo true. I've seen former acquaintances in the grocery store and actually walked down other isles and lingered there longer rather than having to have the forced meaningless chit chat about work, the weather, the construction around the grocery store...too brutal to endure. Out of politeness, if they "find me" in the grocery store, I'll go along with the chit chat and smile. I'm socially appropriate. But, if I can avoid it without hurting someone's feelings, by all means, I'll do so. Do extroverts really enjoy that chit chat? I mean, actually, truly enjoy it???

When you relate to Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Don't Ask Me No Questions" too well

When you discover, to your relief, that putting in your headphones makes people stop talking to you.

You know you're an introvert when someone says "ohh, i'm having this great party saturday night..." and in your head you're going through a million reasons why NOT to go.
also, on a side note here, i've been wondering, it seems to me that typically introverts don't get stage fright and typically do better with things like public speeches, than extroverts who are always talking. Is it just me?

I agree that introverts are better with public speeches. My one of my chemistry classes, we were required to do a presentation about our work we had done on a project. I was the only introvert in the group of three, and I was also the least nervous. The other two were so worried and scared they'd forget something or not do it perfectly. Maybe this is more the P part of my personality, but I find presentations rather easy and at times even fun.

You know you're an introvert when:

You have to be bribed to go to a party.

    You've considered becoming a recluse.

People coming to your house without prior notice annoys you to no end.

You first question whether you gain or lose energy from being around other people. Maybe you have social anxiety because talking can be uncomfortable, even around close friends. Surely not all of those moments were that uncomfortable. Were they? Then you think about to how you acted in different situations in the past. You remember that one time when you joined an extracurricular activity and didn't speak to anyone for the first two years until you felt comfortable. Then you remember being alone in your room a lot as a kid, always disturbed whenever somebody tried to unlock your door. Then you think to when you were the most comfortable recently and it wasn't when you went to a party, wedding or the mall. It was when you walked alone on a shadowy night away from everyone, listening to the breeze and watching the moon. Maybe you are an introvert, even though you're not always quiet around everyone, and you still socialize. You just do it in a certain way, a way that does not expend too much energy for too long. You conserve energy for the right time.
