    B.A. in Typology

I've been thinking here lately about double-majoring at my university through their liberal arts program. Through this program, I would be able to formulate my own depth study, eventually becoming my major through a interdisciplinary degree.

What I'm wondering is, how might I be able to major (or even minor) in Typology, if there are no courses around campus that are exclusively about it? I know that I could take certain courses such as psychology, social psychology, personality psychology, but really, we have nothing here that revolves around MBTI. This means, I would have to do extensive research to prove to the committee I have done enough work to end up with the degree.

I know it doesn't seem very.. solid, however, I'm confident that if I put myself on the right track, this would be an awesome area of study.

Anyone have any suggestions on how I might be able to find curriculum for this?

There are classes you can take to become a Certified MBTI expert. It cost like $3,000 to get in a class I think.

Do people hire people to do this?

Believe it or not, yes; I can imagine its not the most money making way to go however.

Well, to be honest, I'm hoping to get involved with Criminalistics. I'm currently aiming towards a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Sciences with a depth focus in Criminal Theory, Microbiology (Toxicology), Anthropology, Social Psychology, and Forensics. I'm also double-majoring in a regular Biology bachelors of science.

I thought it would be interesting to include Typology in my study, maybe even create an entire minor for it. I already type people subconsciously in my head upon meeting them, and it in fact does help me understand them (regardless of the scientific credibility).

Thanks for this, I found some really interesting stuff. I'm going to attempt to see if I can't get my current job to fork over the money to get me certified so I can bring back what I gather to the university. Why not? It benefits everyone in the scenario; I get certified and then I relay it to the rest of the department and they fulfill part of their training seminar requirements. :P

    Check this out.

    Amazon.com: Personality Theories : A Comparative Analysis (9781577661788): Salvatore R. Maddi: Books

It's a pretty concise coursebook on typology. There's a source book that accompanies it. Seems like a good place to start. Read each cover to cover and you will have an excellent foundation in typology with plenty of leads to work on.

Now that would be a good degree to get!
