I just read about the hedgehog mode on your blog and thought it was brilliantly written. Most times I see your posts, there is something good to be heard as well and you seem wise. Thanks!

I had started reading Daniel Gibert's book Stumbling on Happiness which is about the topic of the TED talk you posted. It's a very interesting and entertaining read but I never finished it. I should go back to it at some point.

Thanks so much. Very kind of you to share that information. If I can shake my procrastinistic ways, I'll get around to learning it...and the business side *gasp*

    Hiya,
I think I remember you work as a web developer. I'm at a late quarter-life crisis in my life right now as far as work is concerned. I have a very insignificant grasp of these things but I tend to learn computer concepts rather quickly. How much involves coding vs. design? Do you freelance? I've seen those freelance sites where people end up taking low-ball work. Yeah... there's so much to think about (especially with my mind). Can you suggest a starting point?
Thanks! And thanks for your always-helpful INFP insights :^)

Its good you know that you have recognized the need for a change and considering taking on the next leg of your ambitions. Haha, a nice cold beer in the sun is nicely welcomed. I live by the beach and there is some very nice bars/pubs looking out to sea, in fact as the weather is no nice right now, that maybe just a good idea to do :)
No, there isn't always simple answers, its the way the world is and it can be complicted. Starting small at the beginning of every change and working towards bigger things as confidence in that area grows, sort of liking getting the wheels going makes the process personally easier. The problem-solving part is liberating, seeing possibilities, how they can implemented realistically, much of it is balancing the Fi and the Ne and about balance in life in general and as you also mentioned, modifying techniques/methods to fit our values-thats a method in itself, personalising methods so to speak.

Hey, just lurking about your end of the forum. Just wanted to say how much I appreciate what you have contributed and how helpful your information has been. Im actually going though one of your threads about career advice for those that don't want a career and a lot of what you say strikes me as very mindfulness based, on the idea almost that nothing is in our possession so to speak, very eye opening and open minding too. I often feel very liberated reading your articles. Good stuff! :)

if you could remove the last two posts of mine, i'd be really happy.but i do have another question.do you believe that happiness is a choice? i can relate some parts of your childhood with my dads.but he was never happy.he'd get drunk and do all kinds of shit. i always thought his personal motivation was power. if that is true,he held a pretty powerful position as a judge and he was incorruptible. then why wasn't he happy?
of course i havn't been the best son either but still

Thank you for replying. It's the NRE that's really hitting him right now. That's a good rule of thumb, and right now it would mean that he should not try a poly relationship. His/our biggest problem has been him being honest about things he is afraid will hurt me, while my only demand is complete openness and honesty. I'm not sure INFPs are poly people either, but could you elaborate on why you think that is? Fan of Mr.Savage :) Thanks again
