    ISTPs and Adventures

    Hello folks!

Lately, I've been itchin' to go adventuring, and since I'm getting a week off I've decided that this is the perfect time to do so And, of course, who better to ask about adventures than ISTPs.

So, what sort of things do you like to do? What makes you feel alive? What 'adventures' have you had in the past?

havent had the money to go on the adventures i want. but i do want to drive across the country, take 2 weeks and just zig zag everything the usa has to offer. hopefully before gas costs to much to do so on my own.

We backpacked from Guatemala to Costa Rica in 15 days this past January. It wasn't too expensive, but I wish we had had much longer than 2 weeks. Wasn't really enough to get more than a glimpse of the four countries we visited. Next year we're hoping to do something similar in North Africa (depending on political conditions), but that will be more expensive I imagine. Other adventures: lots of hiking (join a meetup or go on your own)... skydiving (in the near future)... biking through the city... mini road trips to Canada!

It all depends on what you like to do...

For me backpacking is always a lot of fun. I think it works best with 2 people. But i've done it alone just recently, and even a larger group could be fun (depending on who you're with).

I personally use websites like 'tripadvisor' to pick out some good attractions and book into some well respected accommodation (but cheap too) ahead of time. I used this just recently when I spent a week + 1/2 in southern Thailand. The highlight of the trip was probably the day I spent kayaking down a rainforest river in solitude, and then later swimming and clambering through a cave with a group of other backpackers.

Hope you have a good trip

When I was a youngster coming up in the world, I was dubbed the "wild-child" of my social clique. You want fun? Ohhhhhh, I had it--and then some. There was a lot of blowback though. With the law, concerned family members, insurance companies, females, their boyfriends/husbands, etc.

For me to have fun, it only took one magic ingredient: Alcohol. After a few (dozen) shots of hard liquor...fun was bound to follow. Unless I was in a downer mood--those days I'd just sulk in the corner.

Tragically, I can't remember most of the fun I had in those days. Life's a learning experience, I guess.

In the past I have gone on long road trips with just a vague destination in mind. about 2 years ago I rode my motorcycle from WI to Key West, FL then up to Canada and back to WI. Took longer than a week though...

You can usually find cheap flights if you don't have a specific destination in mind and you can leave at short notice. I got tickets to Marakesh for under £200 for next month. No idea what the hell me and my friends are going to do there but it's bound to be an adventure.

Depending where you are, you might be able to catch the tail end of ski season!

It's also time to turn in your scuba gear to get it serviced for the coming year.

It's also time to inspect your climbing gear and replace anything sketchy before spring climbing season.

It's also time to start getting the boat ready for sailing season.

    < looks out side...>

It's about time to start fight training. Where's my longsword? < looks at horse. Where's my lance?>

It's also time to clean my shotgun for skeets.

It's also time to set up an airsoft pistol range in the front yard. And in the house.

I wish I had something to do this weekend...

Maybe I'll rent a motorcycle and go to the dragon.

Haha, that is the cutest thing I've ever read on the ISTP forums. Captures ISTP Ti-Se enthusiasm perfectly.

    <reads it again>

Aww, so cute! :) Really reminds me of my ISTP on a bright Saturday morning.

Oh how spot on that is, but can I really only let loose and have fun when I'm not in any conscious control anymore? That's the far more scary thought I've developed and has not yet been disproven on any occurrence.
