    Guess what?

It turns out that istp's aren't the only ones who are afraid of intimacy. Enfp's are terrified of it.

I just discovered this about myself. wtf? I finally caught my mouse (istp) and I don't know what to do with him now that I have him. I think it's something to do with the fact that we are so open with everyone. We have to keep a part of ourselves private. Maybe that is the reason we chase istp's? They wont demand intimacy from us. Or maybe he will now that he knows he loves me and all. ARGHHHHH! WTF? That is a strange turn up for the books. I never thought I'd be scared of something like that. Never in a million years.

if by "you" you mean ISTP's, then yes, that's what she said.

I got up the courage to say a few things that needed to be said last night. I think the realisation that I was a coward scared me more than the intimacy. A life filled with fear and staying quiet because of that fear is way more scary.

    1) I wouldn't have guessed.
    2) I'm not afraid of intimacy. I just don't cope well with the social rules that demand faking happiness and interest in uninteresting things.
    3) I'm not sure of what this thread is all about.

Curious why you are telling the ISTPs and not the ENFPs. : )

But I agree. There's a way ENFPs are extremely open about everything -- EXCEPT for a kind of reserve we keep inside us. I think we may even forget it is there because anything that's more or less a fact, and even many feelings, are fair game to share with people. : )

But to feel like someone completely sees into you --- that is both amazing and terrifying.

I think it can also be hard for us to rely on others.

I think ENFPs and ISTPs have similarly high standards for what it means to really share yourself with another person. We just come at it differently. I think our definitions of real love are similar. (Just ENFPs will "work with" approximations and fractions of it, while ISTPs dont seem to bother with anything less than the Real Deal. But we are both after the Real Deal and have high standards for what that is.)

I don't know about other types, haven't gotten close enough or discussed it enough to understand.

ya, we ENFPs can get scared of feeling overwhelmed by a person. So that's why ISTPs are good for us.

I was actually more hesitant to, for instance, move in w/ my ISTP. He thought it'd be fun and would save $.
