Regarding post numbers...yes I completely agree. Of all the message boards I have joined in my lifetime (and they number in the dozens), I don't think I've ever exceeded 100 posts where some of my friends can easily top 1000. I'd much rather put time and effort into posting something meaningful and informative rather than restate the obvious or give my mark of approval or whatever else people do to justify their online existence.
As far as computers go, they just naturally captured my interest from a very early age. Since computers have been the hot topic of the last 20-25 years (as opposed to let's say...cars) it's something I gravitated towards.
My hobbies are very much "on again, off again". For example, I'll spend every spare minute of the next 2 weeks working on home improvement projects, drop it totally (whether finished or not) and pick something else up like drumming or softball or a computer game. Sports are really good because they're seasonal and never last too long. Come to think of it, most of my hobbies naturally ebb and flow with the seasons.
