    ISTP Fashion

I know I'm coming across as a hypocrite for posting one of these kinds of threads after talking several times about how I hate these kinds of threads, but since some people here want to see what kinds of fashions ISTPs are into, I'm going to appease the masses.

I'm not one of those people who follows fashion magazines or anything, but if I see something that looks like it could help me stand out, I may copy it. Generally, though, I prefer to dress for comfort, and I don't like spending too much money on clothes.

The majority of my clothing spending tends to go toward athletic/workout apparel, which is both visually appealing and functional. I often buy Nike Pro shirts, as they're cheaper and often have better color schemes (in my opinion, anyway) than UnderArmour. I also like to wear Nike Frees, as they're light and flexible.

So what kinds of fashions are you ISTPs into?

Loose and comfortable clothing that is (keyword) functional. I generally wear khakis (varied in colors), polo type shirts (long and/or short sleeve) or low cut turtle necks. My shoes must be comfortable, but functional as well, so I buy doc martens or rockports.

I'm always curious to see what other ISTP's wear.

I also wear Nike Frees (except I use them for running too, so they're getting ratty).

Anything sleek with bright colors. I like black/white with any sort of bright complement (black/blue, black/bright green, white/bright orange) but never black or white by themselves. Solid colors are a no. Ball-hugging jeans are a negative.

DJR&D just made me think of something that is vintage me. I do not throw away clothes. In fact I continue to wear my sweats and jeans for years until my family purchase new ones. Even then I will let my new sports wear sit in my closet or drawers until I tear, waste something on or completing wear them out.

That sounds very much like me too.

oh wow that's interesting- the ISTP guy i know is pretty much like you guys as well- he usually wears loose athletic apparel. and no matter what the weather is like outside, he's usually wearing a shirt with basketball shorts.

he's also somewhat vain and spends time on his hair and color coordination. (for example, one time he realized that he was wearing white socks with black shoes and ran back to his apartment to change even though he was already late to an event) dunno if it's just him though.

ISTP and Fashion are mutually exclusive terms.

Fashion as in what I like, or fashion as in what others like?

I'd say we do what we want, not what others want of us.

LOL! Can I wreck this thread?

When I'm not painting or working on a project, I like to dress up. I have purses in every color of the rainbow, a wild collection of earrings, and heels in every color too... I wear makeup and dresses and I like to wear eyelash extensions, so I'm a total GIRL in this respect..

However this didn't really happen until I was older. I think I got to a point where I decided I don't want to waste my youth looking like a streetperson, and anyway every time I go to Lowe's the salesmen come at me and help me with whatever I need. So drawing attention has it's good points in my case.

I dress up or down depending on what will "help" me in a given situation. I'm completely shameless.
Brie, Sunrain, njchick and 6 others thanked this post.
