I will confess, I wasn't sure. However, take a look at this: Estimated Frequencies of Types - CAPT.org
I don't think those figures are at all robust.
Do you really think there are more INFP males than ENFJ males? Do you really think one in ten women are ENFPs? Do you think 20% of the female population are ISFJs?
I think one can make only the broadest of statements about type split among the population.
Yes, I don't trust the statistics either. Who were they testing? What was their sample size? What was the diversity of their demographic? I don't think that the statistics are a good representation of the population, not to mention the mistyping that could happen, especially if you take the MBTI for work.
They don't provide any references for their distributions, so I doubt they were very scientific about it.Originally Posted by madhatter:2600030
What did you say? I think your spinny picture just gave me an amnesia.
@madhatter and @ohtochooseaname too -
I'll readily admit that we don't know the fieldwork done for those figures. However, the website looks fairly robust, and those figures seem to be echoed on another website (Meyers-Briggs Statistics).
To answer the question of the topic: Practice makes perfect ;)
I've known INTJs I like and INTJs I really dislike. I find it easy to connect as long as we talk about stuff that aren't too abstract.
What I've had the most difficult time accepting with the INTJs I've come across (all have been in my line of work), is the way they need control and tell you what they think you should do to complete a task.
But if it comes down to just chillin and having a beer together, then the conversations can get real interesting.
