Maybe I am a type 1? Sometimes I don't feel like one. For a little while, I was thinking 6w5. But there's one big thing about them that I do not have at all. I'm going to go read more articles about type 1s.

Thanks for the website. It's very through and I'm pretty sure I'm a one, I just think that I'm a one that puts on a good act? For instance, I tend to be a bit more controlling of my close friends but let people I barely know take charge if they have more information than I have. One of my favorite quotes by Benjamin Franklin is "A spoonful of honey will catch more flies than a gallon of vinegar." Also, I'm not sure if I'm all that hard on myself. And I'm a procrastinator. But everything else about ones seems to fit.

I was talking to my dad about the enneagram and joked that I don't have a type because of how I was raised. I think it was Wake who told me that we get our enneagram type from our environment as a child? I was the youngest by many years. I once asked my dad who raised me more, him or my mom? He said that neither of them raised me, my three siblings took over. My ISFJ sister and INTJ brother especially (my ISFJ sister is still have a bit of trouble with that umbilical chord that never actually attached us) . It was my INTJ brother and ISFJ sister who put the idea in my head that working hard for success was important. My parents on the other hand "got old" as my siblings put it and I suppose decided that they didn't screw up on the first three, why should I be any different? They gave me a lot more independence and a lot less discipline. I was pretty spoiled and I fortunately recognized that as a trait that I didn't want and have done a good job at getting rid of most of it. So I think I got mixed signals growing up? Lol, that's my theory for my trouble of finding a good fit in an enneagram type.

    Your main type is 5.
Considering the wings you should be a 5w6.

I have prevously tested as 1w2.

I can identify with aspects from both types.

Edit: Made an excel sheet with the scores of other ISTJs. I appear to have more instances of high numbers comparatively. Though some of my answers did contradict others as I couldn't pick a more "middle-ground" one. Sometimes I was like "kind of" and ticked yes

Hmm. Well, according to that site, and confirmed by a few 1s I've talked to, "disconnected from father figure" is the childhood origin for 1s. So that's interesting.

Haha. I feel like there is more I could do with this data too. Awesome that you made an excel sheet.

Like in what way? Do you mean that he didn't act as a father figure to me or that I didn't have a father figure? Because it's not like my parents ignored me or anything. I think I was raised to be more independent, but there weren't too many times where I wanted their help and I didn't get it. My dad and I actually got really close because he drove me to my cello lessons an hour away once a week for six straight years. And I do find myself emulating some things he does. My parents were just a lot more relaxed with me, because their first three turned out fine. My dad sometimes will say "With the other kids, we did (insert activity or rule that he had forgotten about). I did adapt most of the same values my parents have, though for all I know, I learned these from my siblings who learned them from my parents.

I must not have looked at that part of the website. Which one was it?

I must be in the 17.4% that doesn't test correctly. Though, it might have something to do with my mood. I do feel very moody. Anywho, here are my results:

    Type Two: 20
    Type Three: 32

    Type Seven: 19
    Type Eight: 38
    Type Nine: 29
    Your probable Enneagram Type

    Your main type is 5.
Considering the wings you should be a 5w4.

This indicates that my tri-type is 5w4-1w9- 4w5.
Whereas I ALWAYS test as 1w9- 5w6- 3w2. Nowhere accurate to mine.

    *goes to read about 4w5*

Edit: Ok. Read up on four. It definitely had something to do with my mood. The fact that I am mistyping with such a massive margin and receiving high score for type 4 (which is a new) and the fact that 4's description tends to be matching my mood now confirms that these results are due to my current mood. Probably a good indication of how I come across to be and behave like when I am in such a mood.
    *goes to read about 5-1-4*

Double Edit: This is very interesting. So thank you. Very helpful for self reflection purposes

This is me when I am feeling moody and melancholic:
5-1-4: these Fives stand out by being rather fussy - they’re pretentious and perfectionist and can be highly demanding of their environment. Idealistic and principled, these Fives can be very criticizing and rejecting of people and situations that do not meet their standards – many would call them fastidious. To a certain extent, they believe themselves to be superior and different from others - misunderstood but brilliant. Indeed their intellect, insightfulness and logical thinking, as well as their physical and emotional fragility contribute to an overly cerebral image.
flavours: principled, precise, finicky and sensitive
Hmmm...I think I tend to engage in the italicised behaviour when I am in an unhealthy state.

This is me when I am being myself:
1-5-3 : usually introverted and elitist, prefer the scientific approach in nearly everything they do. These Ones appear colder and very self-certain but can be rather sensitive and fearful on the inside. Are afraid of failure and not meeting the expectations of others, mainly because they think they do not have enough resources for all their projects. They are hard-working, thorough and very meticulous and their work is usually impeccable. These Ones are particularly intellectual, knowledgeable and objective.
flavours: cerebral, scientific, meticulous and objective
