Just a random thread. Post any random thing that doesn't seem to fit elsewhere.

The following short quiz consists of 4 questions and will tell you whether you are qualified to be a professional. The questions are NOT that difficult.

1. How do you put a giraffe into a refrigerator?

Correct Answer: Open the refrigerator, put in the giraffe, and close the door. This question tests whether you tend to do simple things in an overly complicated way.

2. How do you put an elephant into a refrigerator?

Did you say, Open the refrigerator, put in the elephant, and close the refrigerator?

Wrong Answer.

Correct Answer: Open the refrigerator, take out the giraffe, put in the elephant and close the door. This tests your ability to think through the repercussions of your previous actions.

3. The Lion King is hosting an animal conference. All the animals attend.... except one. Which animal does not attend?

Correct Answer: The Elephant. The elephant is in the refrigerator. You just put him in there. This tests your memory.

Okay, even if you did not answer the first three questions correctly, you still have one more chance to show your true abilities.

4. There is a river you must cross but it is used by crocodiles, and you do not have a boat. How do you manage it?

Correct Answer: You jump into the river and swim across. Have you not been listening? All the crocodiles are attending the Animal Meeting. This tests whether you learn quickly from your mistakes.

This reminds me of a test I took once on how well you follow instructions. It listed 9 instructions to follow like "write the answer to 2+2", "fold the top right corner of this paper", etc. Then number 10 was "Do not follow instructions 1-9". I passed of course because I am AR and like to read through everything through before I start on it.

I wouldn't have passed your test because I have a bad memory and would have forgotten that the giraffe was in the fridge and the animals were having a conference!

Maybe this thread will cut down on derails....or not.

Similar (and I've actually HAD teachers back in high school DO this) ...
Pop quiz; instructions say to read through ALL of the questions BEFORE answering. There's usually about 20 questions. The last question instructs the student to write his/her name at the top and to do NOTHING ELSE. The amount of people frantically erasing everything else was hilarious.

... spent the past hour changing the songs on my phone. I'd had the same ones on there since last winter and it was time to change them.

Tried that for a while...too much work. Now, I just want it to sound like an old fashioned phone, or vibrate, or be silent.

Tenth grade for me. I failed it also. It was still hilarious that everyone was erasing everything in a big hurry.
It directly contradicts our instincts to do things IN ORDER (and given that the vast majority of people are in fact SJ's, and that the public school system favors SJ's), it's no wonder that everyone bombed it.

Not the ringtones; the music player. I've got 201 songs on it. Having said that, it just has a plain/regular ringtone (I don't think I can set anything fancy for the ringtone; it's a generic pre-pay phone).

OIC. I'm too old skool for that. Songs belong on the radio. :)
