It's got to be a sting or something. I just spoke to my hairdresser, and come to find out that she got ticketed for the exact same thing in the exact same spot not too long ago. The speed limit goes from 40 to 30 with no warning. Given that I live here, of course I know this, but the police have never really enforced it so strictly until now as long as the cars gradually slowed down before getting to the downtown area.

If it makes you feel any better, I've only had two speeding tickets....both of which were in "zones". $120 doesn't even begin to scratch the surface.

Rave: I made cupcakes for my philosophy class (red velvet with cream cheese frosting). It's kind of a joke, because we've been discussing Aristotle's "weakness of will" paradox/topic. And my professor (a very nice Greek lady who is funny and awesome) ALWAYS uses cake as an analogy. Haha.
So I thought it'd be funny to bring some to class. Just because it's almost the end of the semester... and it'll be a Monday... and it just seemed right. That class is like a little family to me. :D

My father is a police officer and there are one of two things I think it could be. He used to talk about how he and his buddy had a competition over who got the most DUI/DWI's every month, and close to the end of the month they'd pull over everyone for everything. The second is that they have quotas to fill. If they haven't reached it yet anything more than 5 miles over gets a ticket. He also used to talk about how the biggest deciding factor on whether or not someone gets a ticket is the attitude test, if you sound even the slightest bit irritated or angry, you will be getting one.

Rave: I get a mini-vacation for the next two weeks! Even though I'm just staying in town to save on gas, it's still a whole two weeks without having to deal with my step-father.

It would have to be the "anything more than 5 miles over". Irritation/anger waited until after I got home. I am an ISTJ after all ;-)
Anyway, given that tomorrow is the last day of the month, the quota argument seems to be valid as well.

Idk... I just don't like a big age difference. If there is a big age difference, then I just start to question if we're at the same place in our lives and if it would even be able to work out.
According to xkcd, give it a couple years and it won't be creepy:

They do that in my town, ALL month. The worst one we call "Deputy do-good" (and other not so nice names that I won't type here) who's young and uses his badge to bully people. He gives people tickets for things they didn't do and if you try to disagree with him he'll SCREAM at you while the senior officers just watch.

He especially loves to get people just passing through and they usually don't contest the tickets because he's big, loud (even when he isn't screaming) and looks like a jarhead.
Sela and Yardiff Bey thanked this post.
