Rave: I have a tentative job offer. If I can get a security clearance then I will be employed beginning in July or August.



Rant: I realized I did have an issue that could affect my ability to receive a security clearance. Although I have been advised it most likely won't hurt my chances, I don't have all the facts related to the issue and need to obtain the information. I have cancelled four interviews after receiving this offer, and I will be very angry if I cancelled them and then get my offer revoked over the clearance issue. I was told to cancel them because I would have to respond to them before I could find out what happens with the security clearance issue, and my signing of the tentative offer obligates me to be employed there if I receive the final offer.

Rant: Worrying about the security clearance issue has pretty much dampened any excitement that I have about getting an offer. I really wanted to be excited, but I fear that there will be no excitement felt for another month or so. Then I'll probably just be feeling relieved rather than excited.

Rant: I woke up at 0400 today.
Rave: If I can not crash and burn between now and 2000 tonight, when I get back home from Canada the three-hour difference will have worked itself out and hopefully I won't have AS BAD a case of jet lag as I usually do.

Why is it companys insist on providing mandatory "free trials" of crap when you buy something? I am so tired of the constant stream of snail mail, emails and phone calls trying to get me to buy whatever junk they are pushing.

Rave: I spent three hours in my garden. I didn't smash anything like @Yardiff Bey did, but ripping up things from their roots and throwing them into a pile where they'd slowly die let me get a lot of energy out.

I do this sometimes too. It's doesn't help that my internal critic is a very harsh ISTJ robot who makes me feel worse by telling me my fears are stupid emotions that should be purged.

Ticks are interesting. Most do not have 8 legs until they have passed through their first stage of being a nymph. After that they grow two more for a total of eight.
