When I am close to someone, I can kind-of pick up on their patterns, and if their current pattern doesn't fit, I get this weird "feeling" that something is off. So, I'll just know. A lot of it is in how you hold yourself. Posture, hand motions, facial expressions, how your feet are pointed, etc. Most people are a lot easier to read if you study these things a little bit.
The ISTJ that I know does exactly those kindda things with me. He can read me like an open book even though before he had a hard time picking up on any kind of emotion from anyone. I think he just studies my patterns and he admits to me what he observes, which is pretty creepy whenever he is on point. I can read him a little more compared to the past. I notice his patterns in his behavior, but he notices more in mine though.

It's easy and hard at the same time. You can pretty much predict how I react, which means little to no emotion is expressed, but the true feelings about things just don't come out.

Depends, sometimes better than others. You can always tell when I'm thinking though… I dislike emotions, love being the one I despise the most. Since it takes a number of forms, have the time it makes me feel like I have to be a xNFx just to understand some of my emotions and particularly "love." I try to keep a nonchalant attitude towards everything, to better understand.
