Yeah, I am not so sure of those things myself. For instance the hygiene for 5, there is no way I would ever think I could get to a point I would neglect that. I graduated in the late 80's........haha, that just doesnt happen!!!

I have to find that other site...it made more sense.

Anyhow...I would see how I might have difficulty with PTSD myself in relation to trauma.....I always tend to feel stunned under such circumstances, especially when something traumatic to me transpires.

You might never think you would do something but if you are so depressed with anxiety, you would be surprised what you might let yourself do. I don't think this descriptions are for normal, healthy people who get a little stressed out. These description are about people who have serious mental illnesses so I'm sure most people cannot relate, whether or not they are accurate based on type.....

Which is exactly my point. It's about serious mental health issues, not about MBTI type. I really doubt that those with serious mental health issues can be accurately typed at all.

I think it is the probability of leaning into certain behaviors based on stressors.....such as a person with control issues seeking greater areas to control (diet exercise) for example. Not sure.

I was thinking the hygiene thing may have to do with lack of self awareness, withdrawn so deeply or something like that.

Anyhow....another aspect is the shadown function deal....

it definitely can make sense, but it is hard to really ever know. I assume it is a very general trend.... I personally have dealt with similar issues on that list in the past- although I do not know my specific type to verify if it rings true for me. I feel like any situation of those could apply to any type- although it can probably always be reasoned according to specific type.

Agreed. I notice that those who seem very stable and balanced are also more difficult to type definitively. I have one friend who is actually a mix of the two. In the year I've known her she has always been really stable, flexible, and handles situations well. Every MBTI I've ever had her take puts her at nearly 50 on everything and we've had the same difficulty discovering her Enneagram type. But, interestingly enough, she has also been on antidepressants for the later half of her life. So in her situation it seems that medication may have the balancing effect that helps stabilize and balance her. Of course, I did not know her at the times when it became necessary that she be put on medication, so I cannot say with any real assurance makes her so difficult to type...

Absolutely. My daughter is quite polarized in most areas (ENTJ) while both of my boys are more centered in their preferences. One is INFP, with the I being pretty firm but the NFP sometimes becoming STJ (or some combination.) His older brother is similar with ESTJ sometimes becoming ENFP. Sounds really crazy until you look at their percentages of coginitive functions and see that they are testing within 5-10% of dead center between the functions. For both of these guys, they can relate to many facets of almost all personality types, depending on intraversion or extraversion.

    Kindof crazy.

Who has experience with trauma? what helped?
Trauma can cover a whole range of things? Anything in particular such as physical abuse or those who have been verbally abused?

I've always been interested in the millitary and in my youth considered joining up.

ISTJ's are I think better at keeping our heads in a crisis and not panicking. Plus and ISTJ would be more likely to aim well and pull the trigger and shoot to kill than other types, but only in the context of a proper war and the knowledge that what he/she was doing is legal and moral.
