    I posted videos and writings so that other enneagram experts could type me. No way would I have found my type through just reading or taking the tests. But now that I know what I am, I like to take the tests to see how valid they are. I rarely ever test as a 6 when I take those tests. Matter-of-fact, I've never gotten a 6 result from an enneagram test.

    Yep, I just took the enneagram test here again on PerC and my results were:
    7w6, 9w1, 3w2
    And I am actually 6w7, 9w1, 2w3

    But I do have a 7w8 subwing in my core fix so that might be why.

    Thank you. The PerC test that was posted a few days ago said that I was 6w5, but I've never done an enneagram thingy before. Is there a good online one you'd recommend? Something that doesn't require downloads or money?

    Remember, I originally typed as 6w5 - it was later when I learned more about the enneagram from you and @Seanna (and became less stressed-out!) that I realized it was actually a 9w1 that was degenerating towards 6.

    Sexual
    Sexual Nines seek a sense of well-being by finding something or someone to merge with. They want to be at one with the world, with beauty, with nature, but especially with a special, ideal lover. That being said, Sexual Nines have many anxieties about losing themselves by submerging their identity in the other. Thus, they can sometimes appear ambivalent and emotionally conflicted, like Fours or Sixes. They sometimes attempt to "solve" the inner conflict between their desire for merging and their desire for independence by "triangulation." They engage in two separate, simultaneous relationships that serve different needs while never completely showing up in either. Needless to say, this can create the kinds of conflicts that Nines are trying to avoid.

    The overall affect of Sexual Nines is one of gentleness, ease, and flow, and they seek these qualities in others and in the environment. They also tend to be highly sensual, enjoying tastes, textures, and sensations. Although they resemble Fours in this regard, being ethereal and dreamy, their sensuality is earthy and embodied, and they are not as self-aware or self-doubting as Fours. Sexual Nines tend to be more imaginative than the other Variants—often with elements of gentle whimsy and heroic fantasy. They see the world in magical terms, investing even ordinary objects with a warm glow. They seem to take in the world with a wide-eyed wonder and have a characteristic child-like aura about them.
    That is extremely close to me, though not sure about the child-like aura bit...
    @DaisyChain you might try this free test for your tritypes:

    FTFY. Yeah that part is weird. That's the only sx description I've heard like that.

    Hm, Ive been getting different results lately. I used to test as one a few years ago, but now Ive mostly tested as 6.
    I find it odd how close 5, 8, and 9 are....

    PSTypes Enneagram Test Results

    The Distribution of Your Scores

    Considering the wings you should be a 6w5.

    Here's the instinct test. Ive always tested as SP dominant.
    Sexual |||||||||||||||||| 58%
    Social ||||||||||||||| 46%
    Self Preservation |||||||||||||||||||||||| 78%

    (why is there a gap at type 5?! That does not show up in the editing format!!)

    Wow... you could be 1, 5, 6, 8 or 9. You need to do some serious reading in the misidentifications thread. Or fill out one of those "Type Me" questionnaires. :)

    I think im either a 1 or 6. I did fill out a questionnaire--Here's the link to it: a bit confused. Ive been thinking of editing it for a while though. New insights to include and all that.

    Okay, you guys just took me for quite the ride.
    I thought, oh! Different tests! Cool work, man! I can totally waste some time on this!
    And then they were all like "You're probably a nine!" "No, you're probably a five! But you might be an eight!"
    And then I was like, wait, what... So I did some reading, got even more confused, finished my reading, had a light-bulb moment, then promptly sent the test a reply which read, "No, you're a liar, I'm six-y and I know it."
    Nice work though, confusing me like that.

    Here's my results:

    • Type One:..............................37
    • Type Two:..................25
    • Type Three:....14
    • Type Four:......................31
    • Type Five:.................................41
    • Type Six:........................................44
    • Type Seven:.......17
    • Type Eight:.........................34
    • Type Nine:............18

    Your probable Enneagram Type

    Your main type is 6.
    Considering the wings you should be a 6w5.

    (I think I'm really a 5w6, simply because it's what I relate to most when reading things on the 5 forum)

    And my variants:
    Sexual |||||||||||||||||| 58%
    Social ||||||||| 30%
    Self Preservation |||||||||||| 34%

    I don't have any previous results to compare to, but I used to be very afraid of any sort of intensity and intimacy. My piano teacher gave me a present once after I'd worked really hard on something and I was just numb. Afterwards I went to the bathroom and cried.

    Now I'm afraid of my desire for intimacy being too strong. Once a person gains my trust (which doesn't take much) I'll tell them anything. This is one trait that I honestly hate about myself because it makes me a prime target for getting love-bombed. My cult-following Sis figured out that after 45 minutes of talking I'd tell her anything she'd want to know. She'd purposely focus on light-hearted fluff to get me to relax and would then load the heavy stuff on later. She made the mistake of bragging about this to me and now I ALWAYS time how long I talk with people and try cut it short before I say too much.
    niss, Sela, Rhee and 5 others thanked this post.
