Hi, I'm going to respond to this with a quote of mine from another thread. I would prefer for this to be the INTP thread since that one did not start out well.

I'm also regularly jealous of how he can speak his mind about things which leads to a bit of an inferiority complex- I've speculated about whether he reciprocates this sentiment but I can't really tell to be honest and I won't ask him.

However, he has also shown to be an extremely good listener and gives very reasonable advice that shows how well we relate as Percievers. We share a wacky, random sense of humor. He is smart and passionate about his fields which I admire. He is also much more laid-back about things compared to my J friends which means he's fun to be around. Even though his passions for philosophy, science and martial arts don't really overlap with mine for literature and music, sometimes I dabble in his debates, sometimes he dabbles in my music, leading to better understanding of these things. We both love animé and video games, but prefer completely different genres- again, we swap and learn to appreciate. Overall, he's taught me a lot, and maybe I've taught him, I don't know, he doesn't give away a lot.
A lot of the time I think about how in most other circumstances I would never have got to know my INTP friend and would have found him intolerable. In that way I consider myself very lucky.

Thanks for the response. Is your friend the only INTP you've ever known?

I thought my Dad was an INTP for a while, but he's too practically minded, I'm gonna go with ISTP with him. So yeah, my friend's the only INTP I've known is an INTP. I know few other people well enough to decipher their type.

It's a somewhat unlikely friendship. As others have pointed out in other threads, our cognitive functions are the exact reverse of one another, all your strengths are our weaknesses and vice versa. It's the P that gives us the chance really.

I know a fair few INTJs, and an ENTP, however, I don't think I know any INTPs.

My INTP friend is very cool, he is addicted to games like me,
however he is also a very successful consultant so he doesn't let it affect his work.

I get along great with him due to our shared game playing and self improvement interests.
He has transcended cynicism, but you can tell that he doesn't view the world trough the lens
of caring and sharing, but value, efficiency and logic.

He is an excel magician doing stuff with that program that I could only dream of.
He solved the last task of this site

    ::[ www.try2hack.nl ]::

purely in excel cut and paste... XD
I had to make a python program with all sorts of complexity to do the same task.

We respect each other and our differences and have never had any major issues.

I've been married to an INTP for 10 years now. He's pretty introverted.

I'm really cool with my INTP friend. He's dating an ISFP lol, so he asks me questions sometimes. I had no problems talking to him since he's chill.

I think INTPs have been quite easy to get with...
'coz I think many I__Js are very difficult to get with....
