I don't really question my existence because I know what I'm here for. (Idk about other ISFPs) I'm living to enjoy the moments :)
Has it ever occured to you that there might be...just might be...something more than that?

I don't want to preoccupy myself about the stuff I don't need to worry about. It's so unnecessary. Live and let live.

Unnecessary? What is good is never unnecessary.

I ask what is my purpose here? But if I think about it too much I realise I could never come up with a conclusion, so the best thing is just to with the flow. What's the point in asking myself the question I will never have an answer to?

Never come up with a conclusion? Maybe you are not meant to come up with a conclusion?

If I ask a question, I want an answer. Why wouldn't I want an answer? :s How do you cope with not knowing?

See? Now you ask the right question. I do want to know the answer too. But the answer is not necessariliy within the question. I focus on whats known. And make decisions later.

Trying to fit a bunch of non-sense into my head is unnecessary. If I just think about the billions of reasons why I could exist, then I'll never get a correct answer.

Or I could just say this... The simplest(edited for spelling.) one I can think of.
My mother gave birth to me. Therefore, I exist.

A philosophy would just slow me down. And I'm lazy enough as it is.

Challenge accepted! I will do my best to Te right back at you:

I don't know how to respond to your original question, because it isn't clear. By "chase" do you mean, develop? Work on? Seek out in other people?

If you mean seek out in others, I guess the reason would be to find someone who functions similarly to me. I have never sought a particular primary function, but I suppose there are people who do, and I assume that they do so thinking that having similar functions will allow them to connect on a deeper level.

If you mean use, and you are basically asking "why be ISFP?" then the answer is simply that we do not choose our personality types. We instinctually use Fi first. It's just the way we are.

If you mean develop, that is a different question. There are clearly many benefits to using Te in this world, and particularly in careers. Most business people would rather hire a Te dom than Fi. Te is more efficient, more productive, more organized. But I suppose it comes back to instinct; while my Te recognizes the many benefits of Te, I can't help but use my Fi to place less value on such things than I do on being a good person, living my life in such a way that it fits my moral standards, etc. Although there are benefits to both, being kind for example is more important to me in the grand scheme of things than being productive. That is probably the result of my Fi, but it also makes me develop my Fi. My Fi is self-perpetuating.

As for that "purpose of existence" question... it has a very simple answer. The purpose of any life is to procreate, pass on one's genes, further their species. Our basic purpose is exactly the same as any other creature, plant or microbe.

However, I should clarify that I absolutely do not live my life solely to procreate. That may be my only purpose, but while I exist, I want to enjoy it. I want to experience fun things, live according to my personal morals, love, laugh and improve the lives of others because I enjoy doing those things, not because I am supposed to.

Haha I tried. I hope it's at least a little comprehensible to you Te's! (Incidentally, I'm off to go develop my Te by trying to do my compsci hw.)
fourtines, Wendixy and Kayness thanked this post.
