    ISFP's and extreme sports

What do you ISFP's think of extreme sports?

I'm trying to learn more about ya'll, from what I gather you're very simliar to ISTP's in regards to individualism, observing everything, hard to know, and rebellion... but is that where the similarities end? If I was dating an ISFP and asked her if she wanted to bungee jump from a hot air baloon, would you be inclined to decline?

Thank you, good evening, and hello.

I've been wondering about this too, so I thought I'd make my first post here.

My brother is ISTP and my dad is ESTP, so growing up I always had these dare devils to push me. I think that made a big difference. I had to keep up- I had no time to be scared.

These days I ski expert runs and haul it downhill on a mountain bike, but more extreme pursuits can still take a push. But, I will do them when I have somebody to share the experience with. Learned how to barefoot waterski, just because my dad and brother were learning too. If somebody wanted me to go skydiving or bungee jumping with them, I could definately be talked into it

My brother's girlfriend is also ISFP, and she seems to have a similar approach.

My ISFP sister nearly went sky-diving once, and is a fan of snowboarding. If you asked her to go bungee jumping, she might accept and she might decline. If she declined, it wouldn't really be out of fear, it would just be because she wasn't really that interested. And if she accepted, it wouldn't really be to get a massive adrenalin rush, it would just be out of curiosity. Hope this helps.

It all depends, for me. The person who asks me to go bungee jumping would have to be someone I really, really like, a lot. Also, I would have to be very assured of the safety precautions taken. Even then, I have a feeling I probably wouldn't have the guts to do it. I'd rather go on a rollercoaster ride or something.

I used to snowboard and rock climb and surf quite a bit. But it can't just be anything 'extreme'. It's got to be something I consider cool, that has style in addition to being exhilarating, or I find suits me. So bungee jumping... no. It looks kind of dorky. And it's not something real. Sorry.

Dude, if you take my bungee jumping out of a hot air balloon, I will love you. I wouldn't turn it down at all! I need somebody who is willing to do this stuff with me, and I don't know who. Seriously, I have a very strong interest in the stuff. I want to go skydiving - I'm trying to talk a couple of my pansy friends into it. They are big chickens when it comes to the extremes...but I've also been told that I can be a pretty good persuader!

I'm not a sports person at all.

The only sports I can really say I like are archery and horseback riding, and those aren't really mainstream sports. I enjoy these activities for what they are, but I won't deny that it's also in part influenced by their associations (I love general medieval fantasy as well as RPG gaming.)

Across various re-takes of the Myers test I've been flipping between ISFP and ISTP quite a bit, I list myself as ISFP on these forums because I tend to get this result somewhat more frequently. My cautious side (and, perhaps, the stereotype that ISFP likes to live the "comfortable life") is manifested in my choice of sports. There are many sports I dislike or don't want to try due to associated risks, strenuous activity, and lack of meaning. Both archery and riding are very meaningful activities for me.
