    ENFP and ISFJ --> Relationships?

    Hey, ENFP here..
I have always been intrigued by the ISFJ personality type.. I dug up an old thread from about 2 years ago and had a read of it.. It was about ENFP <-- LOVE --> ISFJ...

So, instead of bumping that thread up and resurrecting it, I figured I would just start a new one!!

Does ENFP/ISFJ work out? What are the dynamics like? Do you have any experiences? And if you don't, just throw out your thoughts anyway..

Thought it would be interesting to see what you guys thought in that respect!

I'm a female ISFJ and my boyfriend is an ENFP. We've been together for about a year now. From my own experience it's a wonderful pairing and we bring out the best in one another. I can't speak on behalf of all ENFP's nor ISFJ's but here are some things I've noticed during our time together. I hope this is of some use to you. :)

I'm fairly used to how my ENFP acts now that we've known each other for a while, but in the beginning I was constantly intrigued by his "colorful" personality. I think that's the best way of describing how you guys are as individuals. I've seen a lot of people say SJ's have a hard time adjusting to new ways, but I've never had that problem with him. In fact, I think it's common for our type to strive to understand how others' minds work and to accommodate them accordingly. He likes this about me, because I'm always eager to listen to what he has to say and I try my best to get behind his thought processes. I'd say both types are very insightful deep down.

Another awesome thing about ISFJ/ENFP pairings is genuine friendship. It's difficult for me to even explain how it works (I feel like it "just does" to be honest), but ever since we met, we've gotten along so well. I've always been attracted to how insightful and artistic he is... and from what I understand, he really likes how I know how to be reserved and selfless.

Both these types seek for long lasting relationships, so naturally there's a lot of will power to make things work even when there's misunderstandings. One thing to watch out for is miscommunication. Even if intentions are good, people will always misunderstand one another, regardless of type. The dislike of conflict is strong for both types so usually things are worked out rather quickly.

Note: I'm sorry if this is hard to read in any way or if my English isn't perfect here as I am a bit tired typing this!

yes Im intrested in the combination as well Im an enfj but 50/50 on the J/P part so not really sure anyway.
My ISFJ interest is the kindest soul I have ever fallen for. I think their kindness could really help us NFs to dare to get close to them. And I think our enthusiasm and admiration can give the SJ the appreciation thy need for their hard work and devotion.

But thats just my love-dove speculations=)

I'm ISFJ (by MBTI) and my very close friend is an ENFP. From the first day we met, I've always felt a very genuine connection to her that is difficult for me to come by ... We always enjoy each other's company, it's a comfortable friendship. I feel that she understands me well without me having to explain myself, and I understand her. She likes to make fun of me and I laugh at most everything she says.

We've had conflicts but we've worked them out fast, and I don't dwell on them either (which is rare for me). I'd use the word 'harmonious' to describe our relationship.

The only thing I can think of that bugs me is that she is consistently late!! It's so common that I've gotten used to it and just go with the flow now. I'm happy to wait

What's very interesting to note is that, according to Socionics, the types of ISFp (my socionics type) and ENFP are 'half-dual' so this is a very good match, v good connection.

We also have a family friend who I strongly suspect is ENFP, she's like a comfort blanket to me. And it's funny, she also has poor time management! I think this is common of ENFPs?? Anyone care to comment?

Comment on the poor time management? My very best friend in the world is a real ENFP and I can not think of a person who has more trouble with time then her. But we can laugh about it, we have to because sometimes its really ridicules=)

That's so funny! I am an ENFP and my boyfriend is ISFJ. And yet he is always the late one ... It annoys me a bit. But I know in most other cases, I'm the annoying unorganised one. So I just let it slide haha. It's because when he goes to leave, he notices something that needs doing. Eg folding the washing. And he gets so task orientated and side tracked. Yet I'm so people focused so I drop everything to spend time with people/him.
