    Schedule

I'm asking another question because I want to know if this trait has anything to do with my temperament, because I have been criticized for it...

I don't like schedules, I kind of like to do what I feel like doing all the time. I really. Officer this when I had kids, because most mom's seem to just naturally schedule their baby's life. I would feed on demand, and baby's wouldn't go to bed until I did. I don't have a nap scheduled in, but let them fall asleep if they're tired and only force them if they are really crabby or getting into too much trouble. The only thing we are consistant on is meal times. Is this normal for an ISFJ ?

I think it can depend. In general all J types, especially SJ types, tend to favor the general idea of scheduling. However, that doesn't mean that all do, or that they all do with everything.

In general I am very schedule driven, but I also like the freedom of not having obligations...I like being able to take care of errands and things like that when I want to instead of having a designated time.

I think for me...if it's something that I can't control when it happens, I want it to be planned instead of it being sprung on me. But if it's something I'm in control of, I'm find with doing it when I feel like it.

I like freedom sometimes and get burnt out if I'm stuck with a schedule for too many consecutive days without a break, but I need the structure in my life. It feels good to know what's coming, even when I don't like what's scheduled. Knowing what's ahead relieves me a bit. I'm not unproductive when I'm free, though; I still get things done, but it's easier when time is allotted and I know what I'm dealing with.

Structure is fine, but not too much. I like having clear objectives of the various things that need doing and then being left to my own devices to figure out how I should accomplish everything. Set in stone schedules? No thanks.

Doesn't sound like me, I need schedule to function and be productive.

I was like you with my kids. I had 'routines' that I did to signal to them when it was bed time or bath time or feed time or whatever, but they were never rigid nor were they at the same time each day. It was always demand feeding and sleep when they're tired with me as well. I could trigger the sleep thing particularly by starting my 'it's bed time routine' with them which was handy if it was, say, 3 am and I really didn't want to be wake. But mostly, yeah schedules annoy me. I like to know what I'm doing and having a time limit to get it done. I'm a huge procrastinator if I don't have a set time frame for things, actually even if I do have a limit I procrastinate but at least with a limit I will eventually do whatever it is I'm supposed to get done.

    I can easily relate...
I don't use schedules either. Kinda makes me feel bad since I know that a majority of ISFJs do use schedules...I kind of want to learn how to effectively use one >.<.
I think it may be because I am a low J to begin with >.<...

That's how we run things too. I like loose routines, by I am not rigid with my life at all.
