This avatar is an album cover of Amenra, one of my favourite bands. They have beautiful artwork but this one really stood out to me.

These are really intresting responses, thanks for sharing. Do you think there's any correlation between a person's avatar and their personality type? (Ex: An intuitive may possess more of an abstract or surreal element to their avatar, while a sensor's may be more concrete and the reason for choosing their avatar may be more obvious?) I'm just guessing here.

Just click on "Settings" on the top right, then scroll down. On the left, you'll see "My Settings." Under that, click "Edit Avatar."

Thanks! I was trying to do this on my tablet, not the computer. Much easier to do this on the actual computer.
My avatar is just a self portrait, kind of like a well...here I am, this is me.

The companion cube from a video game called Portal. In the game, the main character must solve very clever and fiendishly challenging puzzles in order to progress. But she's all alone in the game! The only friendship she has is with an inanimate object... the lone companion cube.

It's there to offer friendship when you need it. <3

My avatar is my cat, Carlos. He's crying. It's adorable. When I'm at home (I'm in college) he sleeps on my bed with me. We have lots of conversations and spend a lot of time together just sitting around or playing. Being with him calms me down. aaaand he's very soft.

The full size image is actually pretty cool, so much detail in his fur:

and @Growlithe I love your avatar! My Growlithe and Arcanine cards are in the front of my collection, they were always my favorite, even though I'm a total cat person. Skitty just isn't cute and Meowth is evil.

Mine is a building in my city that was extensively damaged in a big earthquake 2 years ago. I chose it because I always loved it in there, we are still not allowed back to the building and likely won't be for at least another 5 years so it's kind of my way of keeping it present with me when I can't be there in real life. All my avatars are the same - buildings or places in my city that I can't see in real life yet, kind of my way of holding onto them. Some have actually been demolished so these pictures are all that's left. I guess it's pretty sentimental.

It's just me. I tried an avatar that wasn't actually me once (art), and it felt wrong. I like to portray myself as who I am.
