Do you ever have strong feelings centered around an object?

I know this probably falls in line with being Si-dom but do you ever have strong feelings centered around an object? If so, what is the object and what are the feelings?

Also, have you ever disliked an object because the environment in which you first discovered the object was bad?

For example, somebody doesn't like a certain food because they were exposed to a bad environment while eating it.

For me, I have a lot of strong, sentimental feelings around items for my childhood. It is very hard for me to get rid of anything that I had from growing up. Just talking about it makes me feel anxious!

Also, I think I take the "comfort" in comfort food to a whole new level! (haha) There are certain foods that really make me feel special if I have a lot of good feelings around that object.

Um, no way! I would never form any sort of strong emotional feelings for an object that I've had for a long time!

as soon as i read this, i automatically thought of my 14-yr old watch that i still use now. it's a normal watch. it wasn't expensive but for some reason i just can't part with it. i've had it repaired twice and i'm very careful not to break it. i've had other watches before but they don't last long and they don't feel right on my wrist.

I often get really attached to my shoes and will have trouble throwing them out once they are past reasonable use. It is that much harder if I have social dancing memories attached to them. I tend to keep them around while I form attachments to new shoes and then dispose of them once the sentiments have dissipated.

There is also one musical artist I have trouble listening to even though I enjoy the music itself. I've associated her usic with my old roommate who I had a falling out with.

I'm really attached to my car that I bought last year. I treat it like its a pet and I cherish it. I clean it monthly and use only the best stuff. I notice every other car of my year and type out in the street when I'm out. I store it in a private garage because I don't like the public ones. I wanted this car since I was in college and when I got it, it was the day I broke up with my fiancee. It holds a lot of meaning, so yea that's my inanimate object obsession :3
